Hyatt Albuquerque

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Overall, the experience was a good one. There was the faint sound of an alarm in another room, the whole time I was there. The maintenance staff tried to locate it but was unsuccessful (which I thought was strange). The restaurant was nice and most of the front desk staff was eager to help.

Staff was great, hotel room was average yet the cost did not match room nor experience. They charge for use of wireless service 9.99 per day and if guest desire a refrigerator there is an additional charge as well. There was no blow dryer in bath which is also "standard" in other hotels. There was a water bottle with a $5.00 tag on it in the room that said "for your refreshment". We will not stay here again.

Everything was great except no wifi

Cons: provide free wifi
The staff was helpful and courteous and everything was well designed. There was only free wifi in the lobby and I only found out about by accident.

Great Upscale Option in ABQ

Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: The staff alone are a great reason to return.
Location: As a craft beer lover, I enjoyed a few of the many local Craft Breweries located within walking distance from the hotel.
This is a great hotel in the heart of Downtown Albuquerque. The hotel staff is an excellent and extremely helpful crew, especially the concierge, Mary Lou. She was awesome! The restaurant Forque featured some good food, and great drinks. Again, the staff was great in the bar as well.

Flooding toilets and double cost parking

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: not much, the elevators were fast, good location if you need to be downtown
Cons: practically everything, but basically the staff was pathetic
Location: convention center, lots of restaurants
Suffice to say the first night the toilet flooded the entire bathroom, entry, closet, etc., but not to the beds. We were forced to change rooms and didn't even hear a single "sorry". Considering we had two small children and this occurred at bed time, it was not a trivial event. We honestly expected something, but got nothing. The only good thing was they did have another room available. The parking is controlled by a separate group and decided to charge double the posted rates resulting in $20 a day, which in the southwest US is shockingly high. We ate at the in house restaurant. Minimal choices and over priced. Also asked the hotel staff which direction the convention center was and got a blank stare and a response of I don't know. I knew it was across the street I just didn't know which direction since it is fairly easy to get turned around in a downtown area. Disappointing. Finally we left a pair of socks wrapped in a towel in the drawer (one of the pair used for wading though the toilet water) and forgot to retrieve them. While still in town we called and asked to confirm if they were still there and we would stop by and pick them up. After 3 calls and 30 minutes later they insisted the socks didn't exist, which we know they did.

great value

the service was excellent, food was great, the price of the stay is comparable to other motel chains but the quality of the room, service and breakfast makes this hotel a bargain
