The best hotel in Albuquerque

Posted Dec 22, 2014
Pros: The beautiful holiday ambiance, the spacious room, the service, and the food preparation.
Cons: This is a totally subjective question. If one gives a hotel an excellent rank, suggestions for improvement are moot.
Location: Midway between downtown Albuquerque and the balloon festival area.
This is absurd. The function of a hotel is to provide accommodations for a stay away from home, not an experience.

Lots of construction right now

Posted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: It was very nice and clean. Color scheme and conference rooms a little outdated
Cons: communication between expedia and hotel
Location: It is away from downtown and more toward Santa Fe. There is a nice mall nearby "Cottonwood" but it is hard to get to because of current construction
There is a lot of construction going on around the hotel and it was hard to navigate to and from the hotel. The people were very nice, but they were unaware of what type of room that I booked through expedia and I had to exchange my two rooms with a king bed for what I booked which was rooms with two queens. What I ended up with was one room with a king and one with two doubles. This was hard on us because we had teenagers with us and wanted to at least be on the same floor. They told us that Expedia and Marriot do not communicate well about room descriptions :(

Hi, Thank you for staying with us. We are so excited to announce that the construction has been completed! The new traffic lanes and patterns make it easy to get around now. So sorry to hear about the room challenges. We are working with Expedia to try and get the the room type offerings more clear on the site. Hope you enjoy the holidays

Nice stay

Posted Nov 26, 2014
Staff was great and very accommodating. The only thing I wish we had was a fridge and a microwave. The pool was also a bit disappointing, dirty with leaves and small. Over all was a good stay.

Thank you for your comments. Our apologies with the pool and have asked our team to stay on top of it, particularly on the high wind days. For a future stay, we would recomment booking one of our king suites as they come with a microwave and refrigerator. Best Wishes

Double charges

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: Beds were soft and sheets smelled fresh, no bleachy smell.
Cons: Don't charge guests when a outside party(Expida) already has.
Location: A little tricky getting into parking area. Not very well marked. There was very heavy traffic so we almost missed the turn in.
Great stay except that Expida and Marriott both charged my credit card!!! Now I have to dispute the Hotel charges!!!

Trust NOT

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Service and reservations. Also, the manager criticized us for booking with Expedia, saying that Expedia's system does not communicate with Marriott.
Called months ahead to verify north facing room, microwave and refrigerator in room. Paid for a suite, sleeps 4. Called for late arrival. After driving 8 hours, we arrive, no suite, no north facing room, no microwave, and no refrigerator. After explaining that there are 4 people who need a bed, the clerk found a suite. Suite sofa was not made, coffee machine and tray was in disarray, it was very strange. Seemed like the maid stopped in the middle of cleaning. Next day, the manager was very nice. Gave us a comp and parking pass to the Marriott Tent at the Balloon Festival. We received a broken microwave (returned) and a refrigerator. We got to the Balloon Festival, no Marriott tent. It was the week before. :( Our family travels fairly frequently and my husband travels very frequently(Marriott Silver), and we have never experienced such a disappointing stay.

Dear Les Thank you for staying with us and for your feedback. We are so sorry that we were unable to fully meet your requests for your room. I enjoyed the opportunity to meet you and talk with you about your stay. I also want to share my personal apologies that you were under the perception that the special parking pass I gave you included a corporate tent pass. We only disussed this parking pass as providing you with a special entrance to the park that avoided most of the traffic and gave you parking in the Corporate Village area that is minimal steps to the field. Having the pass also then ensured there was no additional admission cost into Balloon Fiesta park for the event for everyone in your car. The corporate tents in this are require other passes and we don't have a tent through out the event. Again, I'm sorry if you had the impression that it was also a tent pass. I hope that you otherwise enjoyed the Balloon Fiesta. There were several beautiful mornings where the sky was filled with the balloons and so many colors and shapes. An amazing sight. Overall, it was a great event this year. Our best wishes to you and your family,

Nice hotel, convenient location

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Staff, location, cleanliness.
Cons: Better pillows, queen beds, free wi-fi.
Location: Convenient to everything.
Nice hotel, great staff, good location. On the downside, there are only full size beds in the double rooms, not queen size as advertised on Expedia. Also, I did not care for the small bed pillows for sleeping. And finally, the wi-fi is not free. Other than that, it was an enjoyable stay.

Good Hotel, but my reservation was disappointing. Paid for Conceirge room and did not get the floor I paid for.. And the Conceirge room was rarely open and nothing was complimentary. Hotel bar very expensive, but the location was pretty good to what we needed.

Thank you for your feedback. Please accept my apologies that you were not in the concierge floor, though I hope you found the room amenities for a concierge guest in your room. In regard to the concierge lounge, the access is through your guest room key. I am following up with the concierge team to see why you might have found it otherwise unaccessible. I'm glad you liked our location and hope you had a great time at Balloon Fiesta. Best wishes and we hope to see you next year for the big event.

This used to be a very nice hotel

Posted Oct 13, 2014
Pros: The location
Cons: The front desk personnel, the kitchen, room service.
Location: Balloon fiesta.
I had reserved a room with two queen beds but since that was only a "request" I received a room with one king bed and a fold out couch. I had to pay for Internet in the room (although I'm a Marriott rewards member ) because I booked through Expedia instead of directly with Marriott. I ordered room service dinner for myself and my 4 year old granddaughter. It took an hour and thirty minutes after I was told it would be there in 30 minutes. I wish someone would have asked me how my stay was when I checked out because I would have told them. They didn't ask.
