“For an older motel, it was very clean and comfortable.”
It is one of the older motels in the area, and although it may not look as impressive on the outside, it was very clean and comfortable .Would stay there again, and recommend it to others. Staff was very friendly and helpful. . It is in walking distance to the Aquarium/Botanical Gardens, as well as downtown historic Albuquerque. It is convenient to the freeway, and 10 minutes to the airport.
“Albuquerque's bit of charm”
When I first saw the hotel, I was a bit skeptical because at first glance it looked like the motel was rather old. However, when we checked in, we were very happy to see how clean the room was, and especially how courteous and informative the motel manager/owner was. The furniture in the room is somewhat dated, but it is well maintained, and the room was spotless. As for the location, it is very close to old town, restaurants, as well as many other attractions. I will definitely book this motel again when I return to Albuquerque.
“Better than the reviews!”
Great value. Exterior a little dated, but room appeared to be recently renovated: very clean and comfortable, matching furniture, coordinating bed spread and drapes, glass drinking glasses and coffee mugs instead of the usual styrofoam, and even a flower vase on the table!
“Clean and comfortable”
This is definately a older hotel, but extremely well maintained. My husband said he couldn't believe it, but it looked like that took all the old wordwork off, refinished it, and put it back on. It isn't fancy, quite plain, but clean, comfortable, and walking distance to Old Town. We actually stayed here twice, when we arrived in Albuquerque, and again before we left. The second time we had a huge tarragon plant by our door, and everytime I walked by I could smell that wonderful scent.
“Great deal and location.”
Room was clean and neat. Nothing fancy but comfortable and had everything you need. We were very pleased. Owners were very friendly, like neighbors, and were helpful with area information. Maid service was efficient and timely. Relatively quite and walking distance to Old Town.
“albuqueque”
We found the hotel to be very close to Old Town. Security was very good. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Gustaf was very helpful. We would stay there again.
“Nice Experience”
I stayed 2 nights at this hotel, having to be in Albuquerque to attend a meeting. The lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful with suggestions on nearby places to eat, etc. I chose this hotel because of its location close to downtown (where my meeting was to take place), charm (I'm a Route 66 buff), and I'm on a budget. I found the hotel charming in a European way (the proprietors are from Poland). There are rules you must follow if you wish to stay here, but they are not unreasonable (such as assigned parking spaces, no pets, no smoking on the property, etc.). I was pleasantly surprised to discover the Old Town area close by (1 block), and with Christmas less than a week away was able to do some shopping for family. I will be returning to Albuquerque several more times, and I plan on staying here again. Don't expect the Doubletree or Embassy Suites--just simple, comfortable accommodations--and you will not be disappointed!
“Fabulous”
We stayed at the Monterey for a one night stop over in Albuquerque, and I wish we'd been staying longer. The location was great - close to Old Town - quiet rooms, clean, comfortable, and everything felt very well cared for. Great pool area. I've previously stayed at the Sheraton Uptown in ABQ and would rather stay here.
“clean, quiet, well-maintained”
The hotel was your basic hotel. It was clean and the owners seem to take great pride in it. The bed was firm but comfortable. Got a good night's sleep and the price was great!
“Albuquerque bargain”
This motel was conveniently located near Old Town Albuquerque. The owners were very friendly. Rooms spacious and clean. We would definitely go back.
