standard fayre

Pros: cleanliness, friendly staff, good array of breakfast items
Cons: vending machine could be restocked. we emptied one type of sandwich and it was not replenished the next day
Location: as mentioned - 30 mins out of central madrid, some shopping / eating within driving distance but otherwise not a lot in the area. Suburban.
hotel was as expected for a Holiday Inn Express, staff were friendly and spoke both Spanish and English. room was very clean, sofa bed was made up for us on arrival and as a result it a bit snug but for a budget hotel it was no worse than I'd expect. There are vending machines in the foyer which contain sandwiches, crisps, snack and drinks. There was a telepizza menu in the room but as with most Spanish eateries, they did not open until 8pm so when you are trying to feed young kids before bed it was not ideal, but the vending machine was fine. there is also a restaurant next door, looked ok but was definitely a bit on the pricey side - however, with no car you are somewhat of a captive audience, you can see that there are some retail parks within a 5 minute drive of the hotel but if you are on foot, to be honest with you, in 35 - 40 degree heat the last thing you want to do is walk. Train station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel which was great. Train into central Madrid (Atocha / Sol) takes around 25-30 minutes Train to the airport is around 1 hr approx Taxi to the airport is 30 minutes and cost us just under 70 euros.

Odd place for a hotel..

Posted Oct 2, 2013
Pros: Not a lot.
Cons: It's location.
Location: There is nothing to do there. I was attending a function. This hotel will only appeal to people who need to go to Alcorcon!
Stayed at hotel out of necessity. Wanted to stay at Ibis across the road but wouldn't accommodate 2 adults and 2 young children in a room. Hotel very basic (clean and functional). Breakfast very basic. Coffee undrinkable. Hotel situated on an island surrounded by busy roads. Only exit road is onto the motorway. Had to drive to next intersection and do a 360 to go to the Mall across the road (easier to walk but not with children).

THE HOTEL IS LOCATED 4/5 MINUTES WALKING DISTANCE FROM THE SUBWAY STATION. IN 20 MINUTES YOU WILL BE DOWN TOWN.THE STAFF IS KIND AND READY TO HELP YOU FOR EVERYTHING. GOOD INTERNATIONAL BREAKFAST. NOT TOO FAR FROM THE AIRPORT. THE ROOM IS SMALL FOR 4 BEDS. VERY CLEAN. A LOT OF THANKS TO THE STAFF, OUR TRIP HAS BEEN FANTASTIC.

Only good for a driver's one night stay.

Pros: None
Cons: Air conditioning and beds
Location: You can get on to the express way when you leave the hotel.
First night, the air condition did not work when it was 45C outside. The staff gave us a fun, and exchanged our room for the next two nights. The beds are worn out in both rooms. We were rolling down to the big hole in the middle of the beds.

Holiday Inn Express

The hotel is very clean. We got a very spacious, comfortable room. The breakfast was fine, particularly considering the price that we paid. It was great because the hotel was really affordable and worth the money. We had a room for four and it was difficult to find a room like that in Europe. We also needed a parking spot that was difficult to find downtown Madrit. There is a shopping mall very close to the hotel, just a walking distance. There is also metro that is nearby. You have to get a two zone ticket for 2 euros because it is quite far away from the center of the city. The parking is free-that is a huge advantage. Everything depends on how much you are willing to pay and if you want to stay downtown.
