A FANTASTIC LOCATION, THE APARTMENT WAS NEW, VIBRANT AND MODERN, BEAUTIFUL BUILDING WITH STAIRS AND A LIFT. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND VERY ROOMY, MAIDS CAME IN TO CLEAN EVERYDAY, EXCELLENT LAUNDRY AND A LOVELY SECLUDED GARDEN. WE WERE AT THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING ON THE THIRD FLOOR, IT WAS NOISY, BUT CITY NOISY, IT WAS GREAT TO SEE THE BUSTLING TRAMS PASSING UNDERNEATH US EVERY HOUR....NO 28.....FULL OF PEOPLE. ALFAMA IS A WONDERFUL LOCATION. LOTS TO SEE AND DO, WE RECCOMEND GOING TO THE ST VINCENT MONASTERY 5 MINS WALK FROM THE APARTMENT...IT HAS THE TOMBS OF THE QUEENS AND KINGS OF PORTUGAL IN IT, NOT WELL ADVERTISED SO A REAL SURPRISE!!! THE PANTHEON....AWESOME....MARKET OF THIEVES ON A TUES AND SUNDAY GET THERE EARLY 7AM. BELEM IS A MUST SEE WHAT A PLACE YOU NEED TWO DAYS TO SEE IT ALL...TRAMS ARE NOT RELIABLE TO IT SO TAXI OR WALK LIKE WE DID. SINTRA IS A TRAIN RIDE AWAY 18 EUROS RETURN FOR THE FOUR OF US, LESS THAN AN HOURS JOURNEY ONE OF THE MOST SPECTACULAR PLACES I HAVE BEEN, CATCH TRAIN FROM ROSSIO EVERY HOUR. THE TILE MUSEUM UNBELIEVABLE, ESPECIALLY THE CONVENT AND THE FOOD IS GREAT VALUE AND FRESH, STAFF ARE GREAT. WE CAUGHT THE FERRY OVER TO THE CRISTO REI....JESUS ON THE HILL...WE WALKED UP THE HILL...VERY HOT AND TIRING....WORTH THE VIEW....WHOLE OF LISBON. BUT THE BEST VIEW BY FAR WAS FROM THE CASTLE IN ALFAMA ST JORGE A WONDERFUL CASTLE A GOOD 2 HR VISIT....GREAT PLACE.WE WALKED NEARLY EVERYWHERE YOU DISCOVER A LOT MORE OF THE REAL LISBON BY DOING THIS.

This unusual hotel is hidden in the winding streets of the Historic Alfama district. The staff were welcoming & helpful. We liked the mix of modern design & old original features, but the wow factor of the Terrace looking out over the red tiled rooftops to the Tagus river was a real bonus.
An excellent choice for exploring Lisbon.

We stayed in great comfort in the quiet modern attractive apartment, which showed a modern side of the old city of Lisbon. Although no person was present on site, a phone query was answered quickly and effectively and tHe apartment was serviced daily. There was a useful large wall map which provided a lot of information about nearby restaurants, museums, churches etc. wifi was available. All the arrangements for checking in via access code emailed to me worked perfectly, a very efficient system.

This hotel is one of the best hotel we have ever stayed with its friendly staff whom nothing is too much trouble and very attentive. Hotel has an excellent location quiet and secluded still in the heart of the city, with easy access to many restaurants and public transportation within the vicinity. Breakfast is superb and you enjoy the tranquillity of the court yard surrounded by castle and peacocks.

Ah, memories! I felt like a traveling college student again in this “sweet Attic Apartment.” Right down to the reprimand we received for evidently being too loud, the attic accommodations that were dorm-like, and the cold showers. We didn’t have high expectations for $30/night, and I guess you get what you pay for.

Last night of our week in portugal and sweet lisbon guesthouse ended our holiday in style. Don't be fooled by the dark office building like entrance, this guesthouse is a haven in the centre of old town lisbon.

The apartment was a good size however the whole place stank of damp and the bedroom where you could see the damp had come in from the decor was off limits for our stay, we slept on the couch. This place had clearly been refurbished on the cheap and was falling apart. The boiler stopped working several times during our stay leaving us with cold water only, the main communal door had to be forced open as it jammed on the electricity boxes, the communal staircase was covered with debris from the unfinished wall you had to brush up along to get to the apartment door. The tiles were cracked, the laminate flooring had big gaps between the panels etc etc. The location was ok and was central but down a dark alleyway so definitely a safety consideration for some. I can imagine without the damp this place would have been a great place for a group of young travellers/students to stay, however the smell from the damp would put anyone off. The agent admitted to me that this wasn't a good situation to be in and he couldn't defend the place, to his credit he answered the phone quickly and attended in person in less than 15 min. I would not return and could not recommend.
