Absolutely Fantastic!Posted Oct 22, 2013
Pros: Relaxing, quiet, clean, great views!
Cons: Investigate how to remove occasional smell from river. Add more english movie and cartoon channels.
Location: Location is a bit remote- took cab to most places like Praya de Rocha and Portimao. approx. 8 euro per taxi journey.
Aim- A romantic, four night break for hubby and me alone (no kids) Expedia- Surprisingly had the cheapest deal- Flight and hotel B&B under £115 each- fantastic for 4 nights Ryan Air- Great, Simple. I advise anyone using them to pay the extra and reserve their seats. The mad rush for seats is awful. Sitting by the emergency exits gives you more leg room also. Transfers from Faro to hotel- Resort Hoppa- Great, simple, cheapest. One hour! Hotel- Only negative I found was the occasional bad smell from the river at night. Other than that, it was fantastic. We were upgraded to room 326A- The best room in the whole place! Amazing. Massive. Clean. Plush. Gorgeous. Perfect. It had a great bathroom (including bidet lol). Massive bedroom. Lounge modern. Kitchen great. The hotel staff were excellent, always smiling. We stayed Bed and breakfast. Breakfast was simple but delicious (bacon, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, cold cheese, ham, fruit, hot drinks, pastries, etc). The facilities- We used sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi was a bit cold, pool .

Be wary! Nice hotel but not what it seems!Posted Sep 28, 2013
We arrived at the hotel after a complicated journey (including the cab driver getting lost as he'd never heard of it!) On arrival we were massively disappointed; 1. The hotel IS NOT (as advertised) anywhere near to a beach, 2. it is situated in a quiet town on the outskirts of Portimao with not much to do, 3. some of the pictures on the website are not reflective of this particular hotel (they have other branches), 4. there aren't any decent restaurants nearby. However, it ended up being a pleasant surprise! Our room was clean, spacious, well lit and well arranged. The staff were lovely and helpful. The food was also great, though slightly overpriced and it was a nice chance to get away from a busy life. So....if you're looking for a lively, busy hotel, situated in an area with lots of restaurants, bars and nightlife this is definitely not for you! However if you want a bit of quiet and want to explore real Portugese life it's great!

Love PortugalPosted Aug 13, 2013
Cons: Slow broadband - take ages to download the film or so
Location: Nice. Though you have to pay for taxi or shuttle to go to entertainments, it's affordable
I came with my 10 y.o. son for holiday in August. Beautiful place, good food and drinks - for kids and adults, nice crowd, friendly staff, pretty outdoor and indoor pools with spa. Home away from home. In this area there is a lot to do in the short taxi ride or shuttle(it's cheaper). Amazing Zoomarine - the dolphins performance there is special and unforgettable, crowded Slide and Splash - still a lot of fun, beautiful sea trips on the river shuttle- you have to see sea caves.

Poor locationPosted Aug 9, 2013
Pros: The cleanliness of the rooms. The choice at breakfast
Cons: Its' location and evening meals service.
Location: Very poor area.Miles from anywhere, apart from a Lidl supermarket! The nearest town was approx 2 miles walk and necessary to get to a restaurant.
The hotel was too far from any bars, restaurants, shops or beaches. Transport is necessary. The view from our balcony was a piece of waste land with a stagnant pond beside a dilapidated brick building. The hotel advertised a river ferry service to beaches but it was not operating while we were there. The hotel restaurant had a very limited la carte menu and although it had a takeaway service this was also limited, very expensive (20 euros for 2 individual pizzas). We also had spaghetti/pasta bolognaise which was a child size portion, the sauce was non existent and the quality and taste was dreadful and cost 17 euros for 2. There was only one evening during the week we were there when there was any entertainment.

Economical HotelPosted Aug 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel photos look nice but what you don't realize is that the river you see is low tide most of the day and is stinky. The pool was full of muggy water and did not look inviting. The location was far from anything and you had to call a cab to get anywhere. The plus would be the rooms that are decent. Has a lot of light and is modern and clean. Service was poor. It took an hour to get checked in because there was only one receptionist at peak time. I wouldn't go back. The neighborhood is so run down there is nothing to see in walking distance.

Smelly river smallish hotel but modernPosted Aug 2, 2013
Pros: room and view
Cons: bad smell, no internet for modern hotel
Location: quiet but ok, need taxi to get about
Had no wifi in room and the wired connection very rarely worked and when it did it was silly slow. The smell from the sewer treatment plant across the river was unbearable and present most of the time. Staff and room attendants were good and we had little problem, the hotel itself was modern and pleasing. we had a mini suite and this was spacious and clean, if only the smell outside was not there! all rooms have a partial/expectable river view other than the bigger rooms at the front of hotel that have full view of the smelly river. Food is mostly buffet and OK. Need to allow for taxi's to main areas as its a long walk otherwise

Lovely get awayPosted Jul 25, 2013
Pros: The restaurant was excellent but the menu quite small if staying for more than a weekend.
Location: The town is not very aesthetically pleasing and outside the hotel their is a sewage area. However convenient little food shop just outside.
Lovely stay, very modern and the room service was great, new towels and bed made every day. Phone in room to make outside calls on was handy, didn't get charged for a five minute UK call! Internet connection in room is only for laptops not iPads :( iPads only work in restaurant and reception. Brilliant bathroom with walk in shower, quite location and nice views. Spa a little expensive. Breakfast includes continental and some English cooked foods although a little different in taste. Sufficient car parking and sign posted, easy access off main roads. Advise keeping doors shut at night as midges around due to being on the river side, great little balcony though. English tv consists of three channels, one of which is the news. Shame about the location as far as there is nothing outside the hotel in walking distance, rent a car!

Nice for couplesPosted Jul 11, 2013
Pros: Facilities and overall look of the hotel was great.
Cons: Customer service.
Location: Very quiet and away from the commercialised parts. Taxi needed but cheap and cheerful.
Great hotel. Very modern and lovely facilities. Customer service is probably the worst i have ever encountered. Slow, rude and no attention given, which does question how it is rated a 4* hotel.
