Cheeky cheap week away

Posted Oct 12, 2014
Pros: Clean and comfortable
Cons: Buffet breakfast, only chopped fruit available. Would of liked an actual apple/ banana/orange
Location: Plenty of restaurant choices and shops for browsing
We booked our first week away with no children out of school holidays. Not too long on the plane. The weather was gorgeous, lazy days either round the pool or a short 5 minute walk down to the beach. Being just ' out of season' we had good quick service, choice of sun bed, no crowds. Won't go back next year but would definitely go back in few years. Really enjoyable relaxing week.

Definitely not 5 star.

Found the service slap-dash.. Not enough staff in reception. Had to wait ages for car to be fetched from Garage. Breakfast selection was very good but service was lacking.

Ok hotel

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: Good mix of modern and tradional.
Cons: Needs tea coffee facility in room, also there should be complimentary bottles of water, 1 per person per day. All this is standard now.
Location: Location excellent, plenty cafes, bars and restaurants and close to beachs
Management need to visit Singapore,Thailand or Dubai to see what 5 star means.

Pros: Poolside (ease of sunbathing and pool access) - also, pool restaurant.
Cons: The hotel NEEDS a complete renovation strategy OR maybe a total rethink to knock down and rebuild.
Location: Near by is surrounded by apartment blocks and becomes pretty much a "sunny Blackpool" in the evening - although we do know a few good restaurants.
Having stayed at this hotel on at least 4 occasions we were most disappointed with the hotel this holiday and will not be returning. Awoke on day 2 to find we had the company of an army of ants in our bed!! Reception said we could move to the room next door as this room would not have any ants!!! Much discussion followed and we were then offered the room we usually have on the 2nd floor overlooking the swimming pool. No improvements had been made to the rooms (last visit 2011) and they do need a major overhaul. Breakfast was also poor due to undercooked hot foods and the staff could not cope with the volume of people arriving to breakfast. Although we had paid for breakfast for the 10 days - we choose only to avail of this twice and used a local café.

Highly enjoyable stay

Posted Oct 1, 2014
The customer service was first class, in some areas the hotel is in need of modernisation to make a truly 5* hotel however the excellent service makes up for it. The food needs some work, A lot of the food was obviously from packets. They definitely need to invest in a chef. Overall, would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway.

Great location, beach, restaurants and bars closeby

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: It's location was great, great staff, good food, very clean, good facilities, in house shop, etc
Cons: Can't think of anything
Location: Right on the seafront with direct access to the beach, close to a bar and restaurant area without being in its centre.
We only went bed and breakfast but the location created much choice for eating out locally. The Coast line is fantastic and boat trips reasonably priced and fun. The beach is really well looked after daily. Overall a great break.

panoramic view of the beach

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: The location was excellent. Reception staff were very helpful and Laura, the parrott was funny!!!
Cons: The hotel is an older one so is starting to need a bit of updating especially replacing patio doors, ours didn't lock and was difficult to push open.
Location: The beach and number of restaurants meant you could stay around the area all day and evening.
Our room looked over the beautiful beach with wide open sky and great sunsets. The beach was great and the hotel had a walk way down to it. There was a heated outdoor pool. Breakfast had unbelievable choice and was well organised. The hotel was very clean.

Excellent Location

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: The pool area, beach and location
Cons: Breakfast on B & B rate poor quality & choice.
Location: Beach great, 'the strip' is fun, a great bar called 'Ireland's Eye' with a singer called Paddy the Punk! Some good restaurants in the area
Booked this hotel for its location to beach, restaurants etc Stayed for 5 nights and the location could not have been better. We stayed in a seaview room which is a 'must'. Breakfast in the hotel is poor but the option for continental breakfast delivered free to the room was great. Didn't eat any other meals at the hotel. Beach fantastic, but annoying to have to pay extra for the hotels sunbeds. Great bar service around the pool area. Some excellent restaurants and bars locally and around the area. Casino great fun. Would go back.
