Hotel close to the beachPosted Nov 25, 2013
Throughly enjoyed our stay. Was out of season, but enjoyed the beautiful views and relaxed. A walk from the main part, we could stroll to the light house and along the beach. A selection of restaurants & bars nearby. Would recommend thr location and hotel to friends and family.

Staff made the stay memorablePosted Nov 10, 2013
Pros: Facilities are maintained to very high standard, and the pool side was always kept pleasant.
Cons: Casino restaurant, the monk fish I had as chef's recommendation was too dry, maybe the menu need little improvement?
Location: Sagre the far west end of the coast was beautiful em and monchique - top of the mountain was interesting to visit. We bought a characteristic lantern
All the hotel staff were friendly, knowledgable as well as multi lingual, so that we enjoyed every moment of our stay in their restaurants and bar. We also had very good time in the town as we found another friendly restaurant called o farol - all togather made us felt welcomed. We will definitely stay in Algarve hotel in near future with friends!

Not a 5 star hotel, maybe 3 starPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: The only plus point of this hotel is the location and the pool is heated, which is not needed in 30deg, but still ok.
Cons: Staff, breakfast, room facilities, wifi, prices
Not a 5 star hotel at all, maybe a 3 star at the max. I had to ask the hotel staff 3 times in 5 days to unlock my room door as the electronic keys do not seem to work. The reason for this is that the hotel is really old, this hotel was maybe 5 star in 1990, but not for 2013. The WIFI is poor and drops off every 30min. If you claim to be a 5star hotel, wifi is the minimum expectation. The breakfast is the same every day, oily thin wafer bacon and mushy scramble eggs. I think for a 5 star hotel there should be something slightly different every morning on the menu. Like poach eggs in place of boiled eggs. When I arrived all tired after traveling from Faro airport at 2pm, my room was still not ready for another 30min even if check in time is 2pm. The staff treated me like its my fault for asking why the room is not ready. We were at the pool and we ask them if they do milkshakes, of course they said yes. I paid 5 euros and received a glass of milk with chocolate powder. If I new I would have declined, as the cost to for that is 30c

Algarve Casino HotelPosted Aug 8, 2013
Pros: Outside grounds, swimming pool and sun deck lounge with suburb view over praia da rocha and seaside
Cons: Bedroom, pillows, outdating
Location: Beautiful Location
For a 5 star hotel the room was subsantard and requiring renovation and updating. The wireless connection was anything but reliable. There was no service transfer from the airport and when tried to contact the hotel beforehand there was little help available Overall the hotel was pleasant for it's location and staff but would definitely not rate it as a 5 star

Good Location but more of a 4 star!Posted Jul 30, 2013
Pros: Great location, staff could be more friendly and disapointing there are no tea making facilities in the rooms.
Cons: The play area needs to be shaded or the floor covering replaced! The 'tarmac' area gets so hot I saw children burn there feet!!
Location: Great location lots to see and do & good resturants and bars for all ages.
Well located right on the beach with a lively strip. Good resturants within easy reach and lots to see and do. Not great for those with children in buggys there are loads of stairs to the beach and even to the small childrens pool! The childrens area should be gated too. Disapointing for a 5 star although the prices live up to the rating the hotel & service dont!

Nice location and swimming poolPosted Jun 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Hotel is very well located over Praia da Rocha Beach with a very good swimming pool (heated with salt water). Room facing the beach and the ocean if you choose a sea view room, that are also bigger than the room facing the street. Nice restaurants at walking distance.

Not five starPosted Jun 24, 2013
Pros: Pool and location
Cons: Quality of food and slow service at pool restaurant
Not a 5 star in my experience as it is a bit dated and the service in the restaurants slow, non committal and food not great. The pool area is lovely and the views are fantastic. Would recommend sea view rooms only. Reception staff very good, particularly Claudio. Good location for walking to beach/marina and local bars and restaurants.
