“Set in lovely countryside area yet only 5mins drive from Albufeira centre”

Definitely worth getting the sea view rooms as these also overlook the lovely pool area which is lit at night and has fountains. Very good cocktails :-)

“Absolutely spotless”

Just returned from 10 day holiday... pool area immaculate and quiet... room very clean and with nice view... shuttle bus into old town has to be booked in advance or will be full... taxi only 5 euro (if u can get one)... breakfast adequate but only open to 10 am... only complaint is not enough for teenagers... a pool table would be ideal on the top floor lounge which seems unused.

“Highly Recommend this Beautiful Hotel again and again!”

We have stayed at this hotel before and cannot fault it. It is a beautiful hotel in excellent surroundings. Clean, tidy, well decorated, modern and all the staff are very friendly. We have tried other accomodation in the Algarve but it just doesn't compare to the Baia Grande. The hotel is a ways out of Albufeira but there is a free bus to the beaches and town and taxi back is only around 8 Euros. Breakfast is provided and there is more than enough selection for every country. Pool bar does excellent and good value food. We would recommend this hotel without hesitation and plan to go back!

“We keep going back”

We have been to this hotel 4 times now, it is very relaxed and peacful, there are a couple of really nice retaurants minutes away. The small beach nearest to the hotel over a (bit of a rough track) is good with a nice beach bar for lunch too. I will definately go again before too long.

My 4 yr old son fell in love with the amazing swimming pool, absolutely ideal for kids, We had great family time around the pool and loved our stay at the Baia Grande, Would recommend to families with young children.

“You will like the Algarve”

We visited the Hotel Grand Baia at Easter 2007. We collected a car from Faro airport and found our way quite easily. It was a good job we had the car as the hotel is a bit out and it gave us the opportunity to visit local sights. The hotel was excellent and very relaxing with loungers around the very quiet pool area. The service and food from the pool bar was very good. The good breakfast in the no smoking breakfast room, with lovely views over the pool area, was an excellent start to the day. With tables constantly cleared and every detail observed, there was room for everyone with no delays A very handy free courtesy bus ran from the hotel to Albufeira Old Town and to Gale Beach. A beautiful beach with loungers and snack bars. The sea view hotel room was perfect with chairs and table on the balcony. With air conditioning, a safe and mini-bar (with room for your own drinks), well equipped bathroom, confortable bed it really was a good and relaxing time. With Sky News on the tv to just keep in touch it seemed a shame to come home.

“Very nice clean hotel”

Hotel was very clean and food and service was top notch. The courtesy bus to the beach and the town centre was excellent. The only thing that let's this hotel down is the location it's 10 mins by courtesy bus into the centre. For some that would suit you as very peaceful.

We have just stayed at this hotel for the 4th time! The location is ideal, there are some gorgeous beaches within walking distance of the hotel (Sao Rafael & Rabbit beach). the hotel offers a free bus into the centre which is great if you want a night out, but if you want to stay local I would recommend the Pria Grande restaurant and also Castello De Bispo which is overlooking the new marina. The only negative thing I can say about this hotel is that the quality of the cooked breakfast could be better.

“Beautiful location”

This hotel was just what we needed. Away from the maddening crowds, close to the beach, friendly staff, good amenities, good room size, en-suite bathroom and clean. The hotel provides beach towels for a deposit of 10 Euros so don't take your own. Save room for souvenirs! If you want to explore Albuferia you really do need a car. The transport laid on by the hotel was good but does restrict you a little. I would highly recommend booking transport from the aiport to the hotel with expedia. Taxi's to and from town were reasonable. Would highly recommend Marinheiro's restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. Great food, reasonably priced, charming location, Great staff. The only criticism I have of the hotel Baio Grande is that there is no decent coffee for breakfast and the hotel being far away from everything could do with putting on a bit more entertainment. The swimming pool looks great but is absolutely freezing brrrrrrr! The indoor pool is not heated either. But if your looking for a relaxing break with great service this is your hotel.
