An excellent hotel, with wonderful staff.

Pros: The character and design of the hotel, with large spacious comfortable rooms and wonderful helpful staff.
Cons: There could be a little more variety with the meals served in the restaurant.
Location: There is quite a steep hill leading from the hotel to the beach resort, which is about 400m away, which might be off-putting for elderly.
Although the hotel is in a transitional period it still provides first class service. I was pleased to see some of the same faces such as Anna on reception, (she is absolutely wonderful and can't do enough for you) and also pleased to find that the new staff are just as pleasant and helpful as the staff they replaced. The hotel is a must for people who want to unwind and relax and is small enough to receive that personal touch. I am always dubious about returning to a place, in case it is not as god as the first time, but with this hotel I enjoyed my stay even more.

Pros: Only the pool area. Otherwise, nothing else.
Cons: Pretty much everything.
I made a mistake booking this hotel thinking it was in Lagos when it is about 20 minutes away. That said, there is public transportation that is pretty accessible and takes you into Lagos. However, the hotel is VERY dated, the staff was not helpful at all, and it's a significantly steep walk down to the beach and a tiring walk back up. The pool area is nice, but the rooms were pretty dreadful. They were clean, but not nicely appointed with very old light fixtures and bathroom fixtures a well as old tube televisions. The first room we were given had an air conditioner that was very noisy. When we complained they gave us another room, but did not offer to help us move between rooms which were not easily accessible to each other. When we asked for recommendations for restaurants, no one could offer us any help.Internet connection was spotty at best. Breakfast was okay, but they actually put out the cereal in the original torn cardboard boxes that were open from the day before! Really tacky! We had to catch an early train our second day so we got to breakfast right at 7:30 which is when breakfast was supposed to start. Hardly any food was ready then, and they did not finish putting out breakfast until 8:00 when we had to leave.

In fact we checked out within an hour of checking in, the room was smelly, the beds were rock hard and the noise from the pool area was unbearable. We will definitely not be going again.

Very friendly small hotel with high standards. Staff and guests created an excellent relaxing atmosphere. It was just like a family re-union. Thank you for a fantastic holiday.

Smashing family run hotel, with all the facilities of a large hotel, but retains the feel of a cosy place to stay. Would highly recommend the hotel to all, the staff are extremely helpful and the owner, Vincente, gives a nice personal touch.
