I have stayed in this hotel twice, first time no problem at all nice clean room nothing to complain about, however the second time was totally different the room had a funny smell of toilet that almost gave me headache and on the walls here and there you could see moist problem.

Hi, Dear guest. Thanks for sharing your opinion. We have several rooms, all diferent, so, some are bigger than others. About the moist, yes, this winter had a lot of rain and, although we sealed outwardly the building and although we've opened the windows to have air circulation and although we've turn on the dehumidifier, some moisture remains. Sometimes all our efforts do not translate in practice, but that doesn't mean we do not want to do our best to satisfy our customers. About the smell, this is probably due to the smell of the Arade River. Sometimes the river has this smell that emanates throughout the city, having nothing to do directly with the hotel. So, thanks for giving me the chance to explain to you all your critics and I hope to see you again soon in our hotel, because, as you know, we have a nice buffet breakfast, a friendly staff, a great value for money, a central location, free wi-fi, nice cleaning and other services that you may enjoy! Best regards. Joana Silva. (Manager)

Good hotel but in wrong placePosted Jun 3, 2013
The many good reviews of this hotel are warranted. The rooms are small but clean & tidy, ensuite small but functional, breakfast very adequate and staff very friendly. The problem is that it is at the center of Portimao where all pubs & restaurants shut at 10PM and there is no entertainment. I am 60+ but enjoy life on holiday, not disco till 3AM but pubs & entertainment till midnight or so. Reception staff told me about 2 late night pubs, I walked to one then took at a taxi to the other. Both were closed and that was the weekend! I ended up getting a taxi to Playa de Rocha (15 min away & €5-6) both days. On Monday I decided to move to Rocha, forfeiting 5 nights of my prepaid stay at the hotel. Rocha was all I expected with a lovely beach, big selection of pubs, restaurants, entertainment etc. Thus unless you want a really quiet time (but then why not stay at home?), avoid Portimao center.
