Understated luxuryPosted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: The atmosphere and very helpful staff.
Cons: A coffee shop would add something.
Location: Set in golf complex, which is why most people are there.
Excellent experience at Quintado Lago. Every need taken care of. Quiet understated luxury with emphasis on guests comfort. We would certainly return.

Lovely!Posted Sep 21, 2014
Cons: Price of meals
Location: Wild life on the lagoons, golf very near by, lovely beach, nice walks, tennis, table tennis, heated outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and kid's pool.
Very nice hotel set in beautiful gardens close to beach, golf, and natural lagoons. Food very good but expensive although prices very similar in this area wherever you go. Staff friendly and cleanliness top rate. Rooms vary but those facing gardens and sea side view are lovely. Air con and free wi fi a bonus. Dining/breakfast on terrace a nice change. A bit out of the way unless you are content to stay put. 5kilometers to nearest centre.

Exemplary all roundPosted Sep 10, 2014
Relaxing & welcoming We never wanted for anything The staff were a credit the right level of attentive but not in your face. As a coeliac I am always concerned re gluten free food. I needn't have the hotel was well informed a and well stocked even prepping a pasta dish for room service order later at night. It was our anniversary while we were there and they put fresh flowers, champagne (albeit a quite nice Portuguese sparkling wine) and fresh fruit in the room. I have known the hotel for almost 30 years having visited the area a lot and as a child had holidays there. It was a genuine pleasure to return with my husband and baby to enjoy the experience. We are already planning to return next year!

Excellent location, perfect for familiesPosted Aug 29, 2014
Pros: Staff friendliness and facilities overall. The kids club is very nicely organised and the pool and public areas are in pristine condition.
Cons: Rooms need to be modernised in terms of decor. The wi-fi needs a complete overhaul. The breakfast variety could be improved/changed.
Location: Private beach is within 10 minutes walking distance. Golf courses aplenty. Shops and restaurants all nearby but recommend a hire car.
A very nice hotel experience. The hotel does feel a little dated, and for a Leading Hotel of the World, some aspects of the hotel are not as good as you would expect. The quality of the wi-fi is terrible - even in public areas, the connection is slow and often drops out of range. The rooms are now looking a little dated and need modernising. The staff are excellent - a very high and personal level of service. Unfortunately, the hotel offers poor value for money in terms of food and beverage. The pool bar menu is not really what is required and almost 20 euros for a chicken caesar salad is appalling (the salad wasn't bad however). A full range of Sky television channels is definitely a highlight but beware - a "golf side" room offers no views of a golf course.

Classic Style Still the BestPosted Aug 26, 2014
Pros: Staff Location, facilities, service, breakfast buffet, lunches by the pool, the quality of the guests etc etc
Cons: Rooms could be bigger and more modern - but we don't care since we are virtually never in them and the service is the best of all the Quinta by far.
Location: What do you like - pool, beach, sailing, golf (some of Europes best) tennis, cycling, great restaurants, high end shops, etc etc
Quinta has seen the arrival of many new hotels - most of which we have tried. But for sheer service, location and facilities it takes a lot to beat Hotel Quinta Do Largo. The staff don't change, they know you from trip to trip. The beach is a short walk away supplied with beds and towels so saves carrying anything over the lovely walkway. Breakfast buffet is sublime. The hotel arranges all our golf, tennis and dinner reservations. Simply can't fault it - unless you want massive modern rooms (Monte do Quita) or Dubai style extravagance (Conrad hotel).

A warm welcome back after ten years.Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The friendliness and helpfulness of the Portuguese staff is superb. The position of the Hotel is perfection.
Cons: A better deal for golfers at the wonderful San Lorenzo is the only thing I can think of to improve.
Location: The beach is the jewel in the crown - it is magnificent. Bikes are available for hire, also the tennis & choice of golf courses is second to none.
We used to visit this hotel frequently with our children for the October half term, however the weather late October let us down too often and we stopped returning. This year I have had three trips golfing to the Algarve and fell in love with Quinta all over again. We stayed in VDL the first couple of times but when I went back with my husband there was only one place he wanted to stay, Hotel Quinta do Lago and how right he was. We came home thoroughly rested and glowing from the cooling sea breeze as we sat watching the world go by on the immaculate beach, quite unusual now that my husband has severe health problems and has to travel with dialysis equipment. We are saving up to return!

Worth staying!Posted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: Lovely staff, helpful and courteous. Sea view room has good views of bird life, garden, estuary and sea .Bottle of port out free in room, thank you!
Cons: Coffee and tea making facility would have been appreciated, though we were supplied with a kettle on request
Location: A car would make getting around easier, taxi quite expensive to get into Faro. Airport transfer with Yellow Fish was absolutely brilliant.
The hotel is beautifully located for beach access (about 1km walk) which is on the flat and not difficult with a push chair. The area is a haven for bird and wildlife, binoculars a good idea & something to help you identify what you have seen. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly and made our short stay in February a warm welcoming one. Indoor pool was a godsend in cooler temps and although quite small was enough for a 3 year old grandchild.
