Great hotel, nice staff but noisy at 4 - 5am!Posted Oct 26, 2014
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, clean and cheap.
Cons: A long mirror in the bedroom would have been helpful - 3 in the bathroom but none in the apartment! A clothes airer would have been useful too.
Location: Fantastic walks along the beach and nature trail, convenient for buses - stop was opposite hotel. 10-15 min walk to town.
We stayed here in October 2014 and were very pleased with the manner of the staff, they couldn't do enough for you - apart from 1 miserable bar lady! Rooms were very clean and tidy - we paid extra for a sea view - which was lovely apart from the fact there was a building site in front of it! But saying this, it didn't bother us and the noise was ok. The only down point was people coming in from a drink or two at 4 to 5am talking at the top of their voices - we were woken up 4 times in a row but that probably depends on which floor you are on and who's staying there at the time. Overall not bad, especially for the price.

WonderfulPosted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: Price, location and cleanliness .
Location: The beach is lovely and would defiantly recommend O'candeerio restaurant on the beach for a long lunch. Then into the town for dinner on the harbour.
An wonderful hotel for the price with amazing views. Great location for the beach and village.

Clean, spacious roomPosted Sep 8, 2014
The hotel scores well on location (next to beach), cleanliness, helpful staff, facilities in room, and comfort. The downsides are that the WiFi was unreliable, the lifts are slow and you sometimes wait ages for them to arrive, and let's face it - the hotel is a block of flats, so aesthetically ugly. But the price was great and the staff very helpful so I'll forgive it its foibles.

Exceeded expectations!Posted Aug 3, 2014
We were so impressed by everything about the Luna Bay. The hotel was fab: welcoming staff; a quiet but friendly atmosphere; lovely pool and loungers... Our room was spotless, and cleaned every day we were there, with towels changed on request. The location is fantastic, all of a 5 minute walk from the gorgeous beach, and only 10 minutes walk from the centre of Alvor with its lovely restaurants and decently priced supermarkets.

Great beach locationPosted Jul 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
2 min walk to the beach Luna Alvor Bay has a fantastic location and c. 10 min stroll to Alvor. Spotlessly clean. Reception very helpful. Pool area small but most people will go to the beach. Food simple but good. A new hotel is being built in front of the Luna Alvor Bay but it didn't bother us. Very little noise from the building site. Alvor beach is beautiful. Lots of sun beds. If you buy your sunbed tickets at reception it's Eur 10 for 2 beds and an umbrella. Studio apartment has plenty of storage plus full kitchen. It was cleaned daily. Overall I'd come back for another stay. A high rise building - 12 floors and was surrounded by 5 other similar blocks- seems to be privately owned- not the prettiest but overall great location very clean and good value.

Actually didnt stay at this hotel - overbookedPosted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Small and accommodating. Meet lots of other guests.
We stayed at the Lunar Village Hotel Alvor and it was extremely nice. Fairly new and the staff was excellent. Beautiful pool and meet lots of guests there as it was a small hotel. Just out of town - 15 minute walk to centre. Would recommend it.

modern comfortable hotel and very close to beachPosted Jun 15, 2014
We have stayed at Luna Alvor Bay three times & the hotel has always been like 4 star ,would recommend to anyone who likes to be near a beautiful beach & a short 5 min walk to Alvor town .Only one downside this year hot water for shower ran out quickly and you had to wait 25 min for it to get hot again .
