Great family friendly resortPosted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: Great breakfast, great rooms with amazing set up in bedrooms and kitchen. Fab grassy spaces and kids play area for the children
Cons: Reception staff on one occasion (only one gentleman in particular) all other hotel staff were fantastic
Location: As i said, you need a car to get to beaches and into Carvoeiro
We have already recommended this hotel to friends & family, and we would go back (unusual for us!) If you are with a young family, ours are 1 and 4 years, you will really need a car to get to 1, the amazing beaches that are around you (we loved Benagil and Ferragudu) 2, get to the shops for supplies (Aldi & Intermarche short drive but really too far to walk) and 3, get into town in the evening (carvoeiro has some great places to eat but not too sure I would be sitting on the beach in the daytime)

Very nice hotelPosted Jun 15, 2014
Location: Slide and splash water park, Beaches and coast at Carvoeira, Albufeira
Young couple stayed here for 1 week in June 2014 Pro's: Value for money Villas are excellent - huge balcony, very comfortable, everything you need. Daytime facilities - Lovely pools (inside and out), gym, restaurant, sports (tennis court, gym) Family friendly with lots to do for kids Staff Con's: A bit isolated (this is the only reason we didn't give 5*) - 10 mins drive from nearest small town (and beach). Free shuttle is offered but it is down a VERY steep hill so difficult to walk back. Not enough to do in the evenings (no live music etc)

Very nice resortPosted Jun 4, 2014
I have recently returned from my stay at Monte Santo Resort with my girlfriend. The resort far exceeded my expectations! The suite was very clean, spacious and modern. All facilities needed are supplied in the suite and anything else reception are more than wiling to help. The resort is a quick taxi ride away from nearest town, roughly 5 euro in a taxi, with a few nice beaches in close proximity. Hotel was very quiet and relaxing with a very nice pool. The only downside I can think is that the maid service did not replace towels until between 6-7pm, but other than this minor downside I would 100% recommend the stay, we actually changed our flights and stayed an additional two nights we enjoy it that much.

Fantastic family retreatPosted Jun 2, 2014
Great apartment, lovely pool, the gardens are really beautifully done. Because the complex is on a hill there is a much needed breeze on hot days (however, if it isn't a hot day this can turn into a bit of a gale...). Cannot fault the apartments. We were self catering and I really enjoyed the kitchen, with top of range appliances and utensils. Beds were really comfy. Cleaners were great too. There was also entertainment for the children some evenings, which went down a treat! Happy hour daily with half price cocktails were also too tempting. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely 5 star resort in the AlgarvePosted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Really comfortable, clean and spacious accommodation. Beautiful surroundings - very well maintained. Excellent breakfasts in the restaurant.
Cons: Heat the outdoor pools until the weather really warms up! We hardly used the outdoor pools as they were too cold ( a shame as there were 7 of them)!
Location: Carvoeiro is nice but not many shops. Eat at Primavera Ristorante Trattoria and the Wolf Bar and Grill. Praia de Marinha is a stunning beach!
The Monte Santo Resort is a lovely family resort situated on the edge of the small fishing town of Carvoeiro in the Algarve. It was a last minute booking and we were not disappointed. We booked a two bed townhouse and our package included breakfast everyday. We had an early morning flight and I emailed the resort the day before and asked if we could have an early check-in. We arrived at around 1pm and our townhouse was ready for us. The townhouse was spotless and very comfortable - it had everything you would need for a self catering holiday. The downstairs was very spacious which included a lounge/dining/kitchen area, plus a downstairs toilet and two sets of double doors opening onto a small garden/patio area. The upstairs had two bedrooms - one king size double and one twin room. Both bedrooms had ensuite bathrooms and the main bedroom also had patio doors opening out onto a spacious balcony with sun lounger and small table on it. Another bonus was the amount of wardrobe space and hangers!! The beds were also really comfy! Given that this was school half term week - the resort was quite busy but not over crowded and not at all noisy. The staff were all really friendly and very helpful. The indoor pool was a bonus (along with the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room) as the outdoor pools were a bit on the cold side! There was also a kids club but we didn't use it. I would definitely book with Expedia again as we got a great rate which included breakfast. They

Nice quiet holidayPosted Jun 1, 2014
Good apartments, very comfortable, well equipped and very clean. The rest of the hotel was ok, but no real character or features to make it outstanding in our view. The outdoor pool was freezing (weather 22/25c). Indoor pool ok. There wasn't much else to do there so fine if all you want to do is sit and read, but not an option for us with 2 young ones (4 & 6). All staff were pleasant and polite. The breakfast buffet was good and worth paying for in advance. Lunch and dinner was fine, but not fine dining. Close to other places to eat & visit but you do need a car, especially if with children. Enjoyed the stay but honestly can't say we would return as there wasn't anything really outstanding.

Lovely accommodationPosted May 27, 2014
Great accommodation, a true home away from home. We were amazed at the size of the hotel - two bathrooms and a full living room, and a balcony. Staff were great and it was incredible value for money. To nitpick: the pool was pretty cold in may, so would prob recommend going when it's a little warmer (though there was a good indoor one - shame the outdoor one isn't heated off season) It's also a little far away from the sea and there aren't any shops or a minimarket within a few minutes walk if you run out of milk- so you'll def need a car.

Great place for an off season breakPosted May 18, 2014
Lovely aparthotel, had a suite in the club rooms. Great room with massive balcony . A full bathroom and extra shower room. Quality furniture and comfy big bed. The indoor swimming pool which was a decent size. Resort very neat, tidy and clean. Plenty of space around the main pool. Always get the usual couple who reserve a premium spot and sun bed before anyone else is awake! If doing some self catering take dishwasher tabs and a sponge cloth. A Lidl nearby for basics including fresh bread (a car is handy) In a quiet location but not too far out. A couple a 20 min walks to beach and village, one not as steep as the other. Would return no problem. Pleased with choice.

Great resort for a chilled holidayPosted May 13, 2014
Pros: Pool was nice and villas were huge
Location: Located a short drive from town and many beautiful beaches.
Me and two girlfriends stayed three nights at Monte Santo. It's a close drive to lots of beautiful beaches, the area is really pretty. The villa itself was modern, clean, and really big. Kitchen was fully equipped. Would definitely stay here again.
