Great hotel for couples

An excellent Hotel in a great location with good facilities. Immaculately clean and well run. Perhaps food and restaurant doesn't quite match! Stayed here before, will return.

A comfy retreat
Posted Jan 12, 2013
Pros: Leisurely breakfast and good poolside.
Cons: Lack of access to public transport for the non drivers
Location: Attractive area and peaceful
This is our 4th visit. We wanted a peaceful comfortable hotel where we could relax have some long beach walks and find good places to eat. We also wanted somewhere to sit and read in the sun. The Ria Park met most of these requirements. We ate out and enjoyed the evening stroll to the beach particularly enjoying eating in Julia's and the rebuilt Eduardos. We do not want to drive and easier access to a bus route would be good All in all a hotel to be recommended for those wishing some peace and quiet.

Beautiful Hotel but........
Posted Jan 1, 2013
Pros: Attentive staff, peaceful and excellent breakfast.
Cons: Pool extremely cold, many features advertised closed until 1st June - sunbeds on beach/piano bar/spa/use of Ria Garden Hotel closed until 1st Aug!!
Location: Very remote but good for walking - relatively close to Vale do Lobo /Tennis Academy and golf courses.
This is a beautiful hotel but be aware if you visit before 1st June nothing is open - the whole place is like a ghost town. Although the mini bus would take you to the beach (a pleasant 5 minute walk) once there the Ria private beach with sun beds was closed! The spa and gym was closed and the piano bar was missing the piano player! The shop is very small but was not stocked and indeed not open. The buffet breakfast is first class, great choice from full English , smoked salmon ,fresh pastries , fruit, to sparkling wine. Despite the pool being freezing the pool area is very pleasant and peaceful (children seemed to use the indoor pool , assume a little warmer). The staff are very attentive especially the concierge. We will return to this lovely hotel in the 'summer' season to hopefully experience the advertised features which were unfortunately closed.

Great Hotel in a quiet setting.
Posted Jan 15, 2012
Pros: Pool and gardens are great
Cons: No Tea or coffee in the rooms, but there is a minibar.
Location: Quiet location with a ten miute stroll to the beach.
We have stayed at this hotel three times over the last couple of years, it is always spotless. The staff are always very polite and helpful, nothing seems to be to much trouble. The beach is only a ten minute stroll where you will find good Tavernas/restaurants also across the road there is a cut through leading to Xenias Restaurant which is fabulous! The barman in the hotel is worth a mention, very knowledgable and keen to mix you any cocktail you require! We have always picked the five star hotels in the Algarve and this one is worth its five star rating.

Everything was great except the gym. Very disappointed that the treadmill had a ripped belt, not acceptable for a 5* hotel.

Great hotel for couples or families
Posted Jan 13, 2012
Pros: Clenliness and helpful staff.
Cons: Nothing really.
Location: Good location as a base, easy reach of several larger towns and places of interest.
Hotel was very clean and comfortable., staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet catered for all tastes and the food was excellent. Courtesy bus to beach provided. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends or family, will certainly use again in the future.
