This is an affordable range appartment place and you pay for you get. The accomodation is standard and clean. The staff are really helpful and even allowed us to change the rooms the next day and even allowed a late check out without charging us as it was not full.

“Weekend Break Stag do”

Dont be put off by reviews - Stayed here early October for a stag do - great for a simple place to sleep etc - very basic but clean - approx 15/20min walk to town - great place to stay for a short weekend break but would not want to be there for a week or more - typical brits on holiday venue, and if you like english fry ups this is great - they do cook a very good all day english breakfast which is excellent for soaking up the beers. On site cafe/Restaurant owners very freindly and accomodating and cook simple but easy food - yes there is no all day concierge/reception -but they are contactable by phone. If you want the Ritz, then expect to pay Ritz prices - if you want romance and luxury try Rome or Venice - you pay for what you get - I liked it so no complaints - it does what it says on the tin!

“Not a 3 star”

Not a three star Hotel- it was more like a 21/2 star- the furniture is old and beat up- beds are really hard. We stayed there for only 2 of the 7 days we were scheduled. We wanted something better for my wife's 50th b-day. To be fair if your looking for low cost and clean its not bad. But at this stage of our lives we want a little more comfort than this hotel offers.

“Rio Apartments - Don't do it!”

Myself and two of my friends booked a 7 night stay at this apartment complex, hoping for a comfortable and simple apartment within walking distance to the Vilamoura Marina. Rio Apartments definitely disappointed! This place is a 2 star hotel masquerading as a 3 star. I would NOT recommend it to any other travellers. The apartment we were given was clean but that was the only thing going for it. It was not comfortable at all, with faded furniture and dingy corridors. The lift was like a death trap and the pool area was old-fashioned. The apartment we were given was located above the hotel restaurant and smelt strongly of cooking, even with all the windows shut! The bathroom door kept getting stuck and the whole place was unpleasant, so we requested to move rooms. Luckily we were given a beautiful apartment down the road at no extra cost, which was a holiday home owned by Rio Apartments. It was a class apart from Rio's own apartments, so everything turned out ok. Even though we loved our second apartment we weren't completely satisfied, as the Rio Apartments staff are unreliable and give poor advice. The reception was hardly ever open and usually displayed the 'back soon!' sign. Advice about public transport was confusing. In summary, don't stay at Rio Apartments - even if you are looking for a simple apartment. The place needs a total facelift and is most definitely not 3 star accommodation.
