Pros: The hotel is very clean, quiet and offers a tranquil and relaxing holiday
Cons: The reception staff are not "happy to help!"
Location: The location of Rocha Brava is perfect, a short walk to the local beach and a short drive to the town.
The hotel offers a very good level of service for the price. The staff in all the restaurants are both friendly and accomodating and they are always a pleasure to speak to. The tennis courts are good and represent value for money and the staff are excellent. The resident instructor was on holiday whilst we were there, however the lady organised a replacement instructor so that I could have a lesson. The only small gripe is the reception staff. Whilst all the other staff are helpful and go out of their way to be friendly ( from the tennis staff / waiter(s) to the cleaners) the reception staff seem dis-interested and are reluctant to help.

Relaxing spring break

Pros: Sea-view, peace and quiet (April), and complex in general.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: Right on the cliffs, within walking distance to beaches and near by town.
Spent a week at the end of April 2013. Weather was excellent and we had a very enjoyable time at Rocha Brava. We stayed in one of the sea-view apartments overlooking the lower swimming pool, which we had to ourselves most of the time. I would recommend asking for a sea-view and paying the extra, well worth it. The on-site facilities were good and there were a number of restaurants within walking distance. Our apartment was well appointed, although the bathroom (over-bath shower) was a bit dated but still worked fine. The site was very tidy and well maintained and the staff were very friendly. The apartments are close to the newly created and sign-posted cliff path, 20 to 30 minutes into Carvoeiro to the west and a few hours walking in the opposite direction.

Pros: Clean well kept
Location: close to the beach and the town of Carvoeiro
Stayed another year in the standard apartment but this time in a superior one. Well worth paying extra for the superior. Clean, well decorated and maintained with wonderful views. Gardens are very well kept and likewise the pool area. Would recommend this resort to couples and families.

Not a great place

Stayed at one of the apartments for 6 nights. The apartment it self was clean but in need of some renovation! Reception staff was really useless. Ask them to recommend a good traditional restaurant they couldn't think of one in the area! There are no haidriers available, and you have to carry or your valuables with you as there is a safe in the room but they are all out of use! Otherwise the resort is at great location but you definately need a car!

Nice apartment, quite spread out so felt more like a housing estate than a mass tourist centre. Great restaurants in walking distance. Would recommend a car to explore beaches further away

Location: A few minutes drive into Carvoeiro, need a car if you want to see any of Portugal.
We found the apartment very clean, spacious and comfortable with fantastic sea views. The complex was fairly quiet due to the time of year which suited us completely. Will definitely return, very relaxing.
