“Fab holiday for the five of us”

We received a very warm welcome, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel and rooms were immaculately clean. We had a huge two bedroom apartment with two bathrooms, large lounge and adequately stocked kitchen. The sunbeds were very comfortable. Problems with the main door of our room and toilet were rectified immediately. All five local restaurants in and near the square were friendly and served delicious, reasonably priced food. Our favourite was the Flor do Mar.

“Very nice Hotel”

We stayed in a Studio Room for a week at the Stella Maris, accomodation was very nice and spacious, very clean and welcoming, contemporary looking and high standards, all the staff were very friendly and spoke very good English. Only slight dissapointment was having to get taxis everywhere, sometimes hard to get too. fares were never expensive though so really just a small gripe. Pool was always busy but we managed to get sunbeds most days, food was good, especially lunch menu. Could do with having entertainment on everynight, did not have any problems while we were there. Local shops and restaurants a short walk away, good value for money meals, recommended.

“Quiet relaxing break - would go back!”

Clean and spacious hotel, very helpful staff. Our 1 bed apartment was clean and well-equipped. Loads of space, a good sized balcony. A decent sized fridge freezer, and air conditioning was very efficient and quiet at night. In fact, the whole hotel was very quiet and peaceful at night- great if you have small children! There is an iron and hairdrier - however, the hairdrier is in situ in the bathroom and is a bit wild! Our (twin) beds were very new and comfortable, and our 16 yr old son was fine on the sofa bed. This was a lazy week's break for us, so we just lazed on the sunbeds, swam and read all week. This is a very quiet part of Albufeira, so not for those wanting lots of nightlife - however, 10 euros gets a taxi one way into the old town, and you can book it there and back at the desk. The hotel also arrange airport transfers cheaper than a taxi, so it's worth doing. Faro airport is only about 30 minutes away, and all transfers were quick and easy. The beach nearby is fabulous - you can walk for miles. If you go to the right and walk for about half an hour you get to Olhos D'Agua, which is quite touristy and has lots of shops, eating places etc. Some entertainment laid on in the hotel, but not well subscribed - tourism is well down in the Algarve this year generally, and it felt out-of-season even in the first week of August! Certainly not the fault of the hotel though - would certainly go again to recharge...

“Loved it!”

We loved the Stella Maris! Our apartment was huge for just the two of us and a lovely big balcony overlooking the back of the hotel and the small childrens splash pool. Yes, it is a bit out of the way and yes, there isn't much about apart from the little square up the road with a couple of restaurants and shops, but, we hired a car and it was perfect for seeing some of the area and going into Albufeira and a day trip inland. The hotel is only 15 mins walk from the lovely beach but be warned it is quite a steep road to walk down and then quite a big flight of stairs to the actual beach, so can be a bit wearing on the way back when you're hot from the beach!! I'd definitely go back there and would have no hesitation recommending the Stella Maris, but I would say, hire a car!

“Great Hotel”

For the price me and a friend paid for this hotel we were very impressed. The rooms were cleaned (inc, towel change and beds made) daily and the staff were very courteous, we got there early and they kindly gave us a room straight away. The pool was great, there were couples and famillies but it was still quite peaceful. The hotel is between in Albufeira and Villamoura so you would need to get cabs to these towns but there are shops and couple of bars/restaurants 2 mins away. Nearest beach is about a 5/10 minute walk but is definitely one of the nicest beaches on that area. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed here in June, everything great, lovely and quiet, would say you need a car if you stay here. Very clean, helpful staff good food Great breakfast at Neptunes cafe on the way to the beach would absolutly recommend and will be going back!

“Lovely hotel, highly recommended”

Highly recommend the Stella Maris. Its comfortable, modern, well maintained and the staff are very helpful. Its an apartment hotel, so the kitchen facilites give that bit of extra flexibility. The location is nice for a more quiet holiday as it is slightly away from the larger resorts, and has a more local feel to it. The beach is a short walk away, a beautiful blue flag, and not too crowded.
