“Very good”

Just returned from 10 nights in Varandas de Albufeira and am very happy. The hotel is situated ideally between the old and new town with a supermarket at the end of the street. Also the tourist train stop is only a couple of minutes walk away too. A very good and cheap way to get around. The hotel itself is clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Towels and beds made every day also. The pool was very good too, and there was always a sun lounger if you went down around 11am. After thay you may have to wait till one becomes available. The pool bar was very good too with good keen priced food. Drinks and snacks were very expensive though. Overall i had a very good time in this hotel and would definitely reccomend it to anyone who wants a peaceful relaxing hotel in the Algarve.

“Not impressed.”

The hotel is no where near a beach. The pool area was nice, but they don't have towels and room towels are not allowed at the pool. Also room towels are only replaced every 3 days. It is close to lots of restaurants and a supermarket. We had a mini kitchenette that was stocked with pots, pans, etc. Our room always had a musty type smell. A safe and ALL remotes (tv, a/c) are in the reception area and you must leave a deposit. We didn't bother.

“The Pits”

Arrived - found only 1 pillow + 2 smelly cushions for each bed. Went to reception and asked for 2 more pillows, was told there were no spare pillows, only enough for rooms in hotel and the hotel was full. Shower did not work, reported, supposed to be fixed, switched on and jet shot up onto the roof, couldn't control hot and cold - restuarant supposed to open at 9 for breakfast - did not open once at 9 the whole week. Receiptionists english worse non existent. Very poor service - overall THE PITS.
