Lovely, peaceful hotel close to the beach.

Posted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: Modern, clean, tranquil.
Location: Very close to beach and a ten minute walk to Lagos marina and town. There are plenty of trips and activities to book.
The hotel was fantastic. The staff were warm and welcoming, the rooms were spotless and the facilities were great. The breakfast buffet had a range of food to please everyone as did the evening meal. The Hotel staff are happy to help with trip planning and hiring a car (recommended).

Pros: The easy going atmosphere and friendly staff
Cons: Couldn't fault anything.
Location: Very close to beautiful sandy beach and beach club. Near marina /town with plenty good restaurants.
Wonderful breakfast! Can't comment on dinner as was b&b stay. Also location to beach...2 minute stroll. Carefully tended grounds. Fresh water swimming

Close to beach

Posted Oct 9, 2013
Pros: Very clean
Location: The grotto tours are worth doing. Very beautiful. Did the cliff walks and then took the train back.
This is a very nice and clean hotel. A short walk to old town (approx 20 minutes) allowed you to sample the different cafes and restaurants. After an evening out, it was a refreshing walk back to the hotel. Staff were friendly and the rooms and grounds were kept very clean. Pool area is just beautiful should you decide not to spend it at the beach. Would definitely go back.

Perfect holiday for windsurfing Dad and family

Posted Aug 6, 2013
Pros: Windsurf station was 5 minutes walk from hotel. Fantastic swimming pool.
Cons: Too far to walk to town with kids, but taxi cost just 7 Euros.
Location: Hotel overlooks Lagos bay. Each evening from 4pm wind gets up so you can join the windsurfers or watch them blasting across the bay from your balcony.
The perfect destination for a Dad with a youngish family who wants to sneak off for some afternoon windsurfing on a windy beach, whilst wife can relax by beautiful pool, and son can make friends in the kids club. Buffet breakfast and dinner were excellent (including unlimited local sparkling wine for breakfast!), and once you get bored of the hotel fare, multiple restaurants in buzzing Lagos town are a short taxi ride away. Free Wifi in public areas and Wifi in rooms for 15 Euros for the week meant you can stay connected if you need to. Staff all made a big effort and were really helpful. The free entertainment in the bar was just right for kids (mostly local amateurs but they had me in stitches!)

Good for a family holiday, couples not so much

Posted Aug 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
2 things you need to know about this hotel: its big, and there are a lot of families with children. If you are a couple looking for a romantic break and some quiet relaxation this is not for you. we went at the end of July, peak holiday season and the place was packed with families, for which I think the hotel is ideal. the hotel is clean, food is OK, the rooms are fine (although a little noisy, the walls seem thin). its close to a very pretty beach and walking distance (20minutes) to the town for restaurants. All in all an OK stay, but wouldn't go back.

Beautiful Hotel, hidden costs

Posted Jul 19, 2013
Pros: Size of outdoor pool
Cons: Extra surcharge for use of all other amenities usually included at other hotels
Location: Great location
Use of gym equipment, outside tennis courts and indoor pool all had extra hidden charges. Hotel was not clearly upfront with cost of using other amenities

Villa gale lagos

Posted Jul 14, 2013
Pros: Pool
Cons: Nothing
Location: Great location
This was a great hotel, staff were all lovely, very accommodating and happy to help with anything, hotel was keep immaculate, we were bed and breakfast and food was great everything you could want there, I recommend this hotel it was across from the beach and 5 min taxi ride or 15 min walk into the old town of Lagos which was a lively town with live music and other acts, we would defiantly book again, only down side no shuttle bus to take you into town and you have to pay 5 euros to use gym, always been free in other hotels we've used,
