“Wonderful experience”

A terrific hotel built on top of a cliff. with access to a private beach. Breathtaking view from the restaurant overlooking the pool and the ocean. Breakfast and dinner on the terrasse were very pleasant. The food was excellent. Good selection of fish , always very fresh. The service was very good and the hotel was very well maintained from top to bottom.

We went out of season when it was not crowded and found the facility and service to be first class. The design of the hotel is somewhat eclectic and the grounds are magnificent. They succeeded in making the experience individual and not "corporate" ... unusual for large hotel groups these days. We will certainly use the hotel again

Everything about this hotel is fabulous. It can be expensive but frankly the quality is exceptional. Be ready for a high cost but you will get service and quality to match the price. The hotel and grounds excell what you see on the website.

“Gem on the Algarve”

There is nothing better than arriving at a hotel that looks even better than the stunning promotional photo's. The service is fabulous - nothing is too much to ask. The hotel is built in the cliffs & there is loads to explore...beautiful beach, salt water pools, spa, fabulous gardens. The boys played golf - the girls went to the spa...a massage in the little tent by the beach is a definite must! We were planning our next visit - while we were still there!

“Didn't want to come home!”

Fantastic hotel and grounds which we found very relaxing. Everywhere was kept very clean and tidy. All staff were cheerful and very helpful. Although there is a lot of accommodation on site, it feels as though there are only a few people staying.

“Expensive BUT Worth It”

My first visit to Vilalara Thalassa Resort 4 years ago was disappointing because I was put in a smoking room, but this time around they no longer have smoking room and the experience was so much better. They have vastly improved the rooms which are very chic. The dining was very enjoyable and the staff very friendly. I will definitely return next year despite it being quite expensive because it's worth every penny.

“Fansastic relaxing break!”

Booked a suite at this hotel through Expedia at 30 hours notice. We had a wonderful relaxing break for 5 days at Vilalara Thalassa Resort. We took a taxi at the airport to the hotel and this cost 75E, we asked the hotel to book our return journey and this was 20E less. Room excellent, lovely patio and the sheets were changed everyday and the towels twice a day! Breakfast was excellent overlooking one of the fabulous pools, plenty of choice cooked breakfast,cereals, fruit, cakes etc etc... certainly worth getting this included in your package, even champagne if you wish. Always plenty of sunbeds around the pool or deck chairs on the beach. One computer in the reception with free internet access or you could purchase a card if you took your own laptop. We didn't eat in the hotel restuarant in the evening as it was expensive, we took a taxi into Armacao de Pera which cost 4E each way, or you could walk.. it took us about 50 minutes one evening. We found two lovely restaurants, A Tasca and A Grelha Restaurante in the Old Village and we went to both for two evenings.

There was plenty of staff to accomodate all needs and comfort. They were all very attentive, polite and spoke English very well. The resort was beautiful and cared for well. This will be a regular destination for us!

“Perfect for Relaxation”

Rarely have we stayed in a hotel where all the staff, without exception, have been so friendly. The setting is superb. As others have said the hotel restaurant is expensive but lovely - save it for special meals. There is a superb italian 10 minutes walk away and a very good fish restaurant on the next beach, both of which we would recommend highly.

“A beautiful, discrete, haven”

On first arrival this hotel appears to be too understated, but you will not be dissapointed as you discover the beauty of its service, gardens beach and interior design. The feel of the place is very relaxed and comfortable, and the prvate beach is absolutely gorgeous; you will feel pampered all the way. It is expensive, but this level of privacy and service will never come cheap.
