"Quiet area within easy distance of the old town."
Friendly, welcoming and very helpful staff helped to make our holiday very relaxing and enjoyable. The recommendations for restaurants given to us were excellent. There was a varied choice of food and drink at breakfast. Our room was very comfortable with lots of wardrobe and drawer space for our clothes, and the safe was very useful. It was an enjoyable walk to and from the old town.

Nice hotel, facing the beach, only 10 mins walk to the old town. Visit rosy and tony, 14 via simone in the old town for great home cooked food at a great price. Visit the fruit market around the corner for delicious fruits, take a right from the fruit market to ciro for the best coffee and cakes in town, then down to piazza civica for the nicest ice cream on the island. The people are very friendly and welcoming. Be careful if you hire a car as you are not allowed to enter the old town after 2pm, if you do you will receive a fine. Nice marina and beach. Bosa (south of alghero) is a nice town to visit, the scenery is really nice on the way.

We were three friends staying for a long weekend at the Punta Negra. We wanted to stay somewhere which was close to the airport, had both swimming pool and beach and was within an accessible distance to Alghero. This hotel ticked all those boxes.

We stayed at the City Hotel for 2 nights as we had to travel onwards for a wedding. After our first day here and in Alghero we wanted to spend our entire holiday here.
Rooms are extremely clean, we had lots of space with a huge bathroom. Although the view wasn't the best, it was still pleasant. Air con was spot on.
Gianni (sp) on the desk was extremely helpful as we tried to organise our journey to the middle of the island (top tip - you need a car if you intend to travel around this mountainous island!) - he went out of his way to ensure we made it.
Also, for a cheap and tasty Pizza, make sure you stop in on the restaurant before heading out to sample the numerous bars and gelaterias in the old city.

A lovely hotel with a private white sandy beach and clear blue sea.
An unusual aspect is the fact you are allocated your own umbrella and sun beds on the beach so no fighting for a place to relax.
The food is lovely and plentiful you will not go hungry and half board is an absolute must.
They will let you swap your evening meal for lunch if you want to go into alghero for an evening which again is a must.
The staff are extremely helpful and nothing is to much hassle for them.
The only negative is this hotel holds weddings and you have no chance of getting to sleep before 1am and we were unlucky that 2 weddings were performed in our 5 night stay .It did spoil our stay to a point but this is our only negative about this hotel.

Its long sandy beach backed by pine trees, Alghero combines medieval old town charm with all the attractions of a stylish seaside resort. Al fresco bars and restaurants and boutiques sit happily between Alghero’s seven defence towers, its Gothic cathedral and a host of palazzi and churches. On the waterfront is a working fishing fleet, a marina and boat trips (Neptune’s Cave is recommended). Water sports include diving along the Coral Riviera.
