“Great hotel for relaxing”

The staff at Calabona are wonderful, friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. The room was a good size and very clean, with a balcony overlooking the sea. Breakfast was great with a large selection and good coffee. The hotel is a short walk to the main town where there are lots of good restaurants and shops. If you want a relazing holiday in the sun with a clean pool and close beach this is for you.

“The nicest, most helpful staff!!!!”

The hotel was very nice and clean. Located on a private beach and 20 minutes walk into town. Great place for families. The outdoor breakfast cafe was breathtaking. I can't wait to go back!

“Very nice Hotel”

Good hotel, very clean, very helpful and friendly staff. Overall good experience but worth noting, no real evening entertianment and be prepared for the 20 minute (HOT!) walk to the town.

“Would definitely go back!”

Second time we have stayed here. Rooms are a bit small and basic but comfortable and very clean and all have a sea view. Staff are brilliant, pool area excellent, beach area excellent. breakfast is good served outside with a lovely view. About 30 minute walk by the sea to old town, but there are buses near the hotel. Would definitelty stay here again.

“Very cool by the pool”

My husband and I loved our 5 days at the Hotel Calabona. From the moment we arrived, staff were pleasant and courteous and the hotel was immaculately clean and tidy. Our room was what I would call typically Italian - clean and comfortable but if you're expecting modern furniture and so on you won't find it here. The hotel was about 10-15 minutes walk from the town and a cheap and easy cab ride. Breakfast was a standard continental buffet but there was lots of it and the rolls were deliciously fresh and coffee was very good. The hotel has an amazingly cool pool with a huge sun terrace for lounging. This is the best asset of the hotel. Calabona is a reasonably priced hotel, fairly close to town with a fantastic pool (much needed on hot days) - you won't get a better combination. Also, all rooms have sea views. Gorgeous.

“Can't wait to go back”

The Calbona is an older style hotel and is a little dated but the friendly and helpful staff and the superb location more than make up for the decor. The hotel has a large swimming pool and its own private beach and our room had a balcony over looking the sea and well kept hotel gardens The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the historic centre of the town and main restaurants and bars but the walk along the sea coast into town provides stunning views and is well worth the effort We had booked on a B&B basis so only ate in the hotel once and this was a bit disappointing. The food was nothing special and a bit on the pricey side but during the day the poolside bar offers a good range of drinks, snacks and lunches at a reasonable price The reception staff were particulalrly friendly and helpful and made suggestions about places to visit and things to see on the Island. We loved it and hope to go back sometime soon

“Will definitely return”

We had a wonderful 7-night stay at the Hotel Calabona in the first week of August. We arrived at about 11pm at night and the reception staff were waiting for us. I had forwarned them of our late arrival. We were shown to a super room overlooking the impressive pool and sea!!! Every room at the hotel has a sea-view!! The linen and towels are changed daily and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.Breakfast is served outside in the marquee in July/August, with views of the sea! Fantastic! There is internet access in reception for a very small charge.There are enough sunbeds for everyone. (No towels required!)We will return as this is one of the best beach hotels we have ever stayed in!!

“Great relaxing break”

We managed to grab 5 days away and decided on Alghero mainly because of it's close proximity to the airport and the cheap flights we could get there. We spent a while trying to find the perfect hotel, and were very happy with Calabona. The private beach is more a cove and it's quite rocky in the water, but it's a picturesque place to sit and watch the sun go down. The pool is very large with plenty of loungers, and has a bar with outside shaded seats and inside tables. The rooms were designed well so that nearly all of them have a balcony overlooking the sea and the pool, with airconditioning and maid service every morning. The staff were lovely. I'm learning Italian and they were so patient and really appreciated us bothering to speak Italian. The pretty town is only a 15 minute stroll lined with pavement cafes and market stalls. There are plenty of boat trips and great restaurants.

“Relaxed!”

The hotel had a clean, well maintained slightly kitch feel to it. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Cute private beach and fab pool. Slightly far from the town, and only one decent restaurant nearby.
