“Great hotel but check in is an issue”

Hippocampus is a nice hotel in a great location in Calpe. All balconies have a sea view and you're only 50m from the beach. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are clean with good kitchen facilities. The indoor spa/pool is amazing and a great way to end the day. If you are going to stay here, then you need to be aware that there is no check in office at the actual hotel. You need to go 100m back up the main road (towards the Ifach Hotel) to the 24hr check in office situated at the front of another hotel. Also, baby cots are extra and charged at around 6 euros /day which is payable when you check in. parking is also an additional charge.

Calpe, Spain: A small, busy, densely-packed family-friendly beach resort, Calpe huddles beneath the dramatic Peñón de Ifach rock outcrop. It is 330 metres to the top but footpaths allow anyone of reasonable fitness to walk up here in an hour or less to enjoy the fabulous views. Calpe Old Town, a 10-minute walk uphill from the beach resort, is a pretty little restored residential area with a handful of bars and restaurants.
