“Oasis in a busy metroplolis”

Lovely hotel full of style and very calming atmosphere 100 yds from the paseo and everything can be reached easily, whether its shops, bars , restaurants, port or beach. Breakfast is cheaper if you book it at the time of check in, but there are some great breakfast places in the vicinity.

“A touch of Alicantino luxury”

Hospes Amerigo is a great place to stay. Cool, modern interiors within the shell of an old convent and warm, efficient staff make your stay a real pleasure. It is but a stone's throw from the delightful (though crowded) blue-flag beach and all other amenities including Alicante's cultural, shopping and gastronomic attractions. Even the large cockroach which appeared in my room on the first night had a touch of five-star class about it, and the delightful cleaning lady was very understanding about it too when I told her next morning. Shame that the hotel's rather swankily-appointed tapas bar was dirty the night we visited - piles of unwashed crockery and crumbs everywhere. Perhaps this is why the cockroaches move in... A small niggle in an otherwise lovely stay.

“Excellent”

The Amerigo is wonderful. Awesome location: 1 block from the Paseo and 2 blocks from the beach and 1 block from fabulous restaurants. It is located in an old monestery, so the ceilings are tall and architecture stunning. The rooms are very well designed and furnished. The staff was *very* helpful. We stayed for 8 days in June/July 2009. I highly recommend the Amerigo to anyone staying in Alicante.

“This is the only place to stay for a romantic getaway”

Excellent hotel. Lovely rooms, pleasant and helpful staff and accessible internet for everyone. The only criticism is the pool area which is too small and not enough sunbeds in the shade because it gets extremely hot up there but this wouldn't put me off

“We would recommend.”

I took my partner here as a short trip. We were very impressed with the hotel and cleanliness of the room. There resturant has a great selection of foods (and was the best meal we had in alicante). Very pleased overall ad would certinatly recommend.

“Excellent Hotel”

This hotel certainly lived up to our expectations. It is delightfully set in the older part of the Alicante and therefore does not offer much in the way of views - narow streets etc. However the standard of the rooms, service, food was first rate. The staff were efficiently and friendly particularly when one made the effort to address them in Spanish, I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

“Cleanliness second to none”

This was our first trip to Alicante & while we had some reservations about the city, we had no complaints at all about the hotel. The location is perfect - very central & handy for everywhere you would want to see. The room has all the amenities you would expect of a 5* hotel - flat screen tv - dvd player - mini-bar / fridge - well equipped bathroom - good wardrobe space. The bedrooms were cleaned as thoroughly each day as you would normally experience in other hotels when guests leave & the room is being serviced for the next guest. Towels were changed daily & bedding alternate days. We didn't utilise the restaurant for breakfast or other meals but looked absolutely fine.

“Great October Break”

Lovely hotel in Alicante's old town, 1min from promenade, 3mins from beach and marina, and lots of bars/eateries nearby make this the place to stay for a short break in Alicante. The only negative points (and I'm being really picky) were the lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room, and it was slightly too noisy in the rooms facing the main road, despite double glazing.
