“4 star accommodation, 3 star food, not a 5 star hotel”
We booked 7 days half board at this hotel. On the evening we arrived we were shown to our table and given the a la carte menu to order from. The food was very bland, and apart from the fish in the main course, it was not freshly cooked. On the second night we realised that the hotel had made a mistake as they only gave us the menu of the day to choose from. This was 3 courses with an appetiser to start with. There where 2 choices for the starter and main course but no choice for the desert. None of the choices were vegetarian. This food was truly bad! I had beef which had to be the cheapest cut of beef ever, no taste and tough as leather. The starter and desert where no better. We persevered with this menu for the next night, but it didn't improve.
On the 3rd night we asked if we could pay a supplement to be able to choose from the a la carte menu as at least we would have more choice. We thought we would have something simple so we chose spagetti bolognase. Should have been apiece of cake for a 5 star chef? When it arrived it was tinned spagetti, like the Heinz spagetti we used go get as kids! How hard is it to cook fresh spagetti especially when it's on the menu.
To top the evening off, we decided to have a cocktail at the bar. We chose a martini and a mojhito. The bar man had to keep referring to a book for instructions, not a good sign. The mojhito had been made with dark rum and granulated sugar! Last thing - the beds are very hard.
