Good for a more "outback" experience in Alice

Posted Jun 18, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel provides an excellent setting for those wanting a little more peace and quiet than central Alice provides (though Alice closes down pretty early). The grounds are attractive, and the hills behind the hotel provide an excellent short hike with a view across the town once you reach the top (it's not an easy climb). You'll scare up a few wallabies along the way. If you have a vehicle, then the hotel's distance from the downtown won't be a problem; otherwise you'll have to taxi or take the daily shuttle, as it's a bit of a walk. The place is clean and quiet and the food is well priced and tasty. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Alice in the Territory

Not the greatest place to stay in Alice Springs (The Crowne Plaza is the best) but adequate if your needs are limited to a place to sleep.

Alice in wonderland

Good price, clean & comfortable; Reservation desk not manned and had to wait. Pool and spa area gate locked so I could not rate that area.

Unfortunately all Alice Springs hotels were having problems with mice. We found a dead mouse and had a smell in the room despite the personnel spraying the area for us. This detracted, but something out of their complete control. Otherwise, we were satisfied as tour buses came to collect us and the free airport shuttle was a big plus too.

Very good value for money

Rooms were spacious and clean. The drain in the bathroom smelt a bit, but one of the staff put some bleach down and it improved. Staff were very helpful. Location is perhaps not ideal, but walking into Alice Springs takes about 20 to 30 mins.

Comfortable spacious hotel, a little out of town

Posted May 9, 2011
I was very pleased with this hotel - spacious rooms, free tea and coffee, and fridge in each room. Helpful staff, and everything onsite you could need. It is located across the road from Lassiter's casino which is on the outskirts of Alice on the airport side which isn't as central as some others, but a taxi is only $8-9 into town each way, and you can rent bikes from the hotel or walk if you have the time. Free airport shuttle was a bonus, since the $19 fare on the official airport shuttle was a bit steep (although half the price of a taxi for a single traveller). Also a handy spot if you're being picked up/dropped off from an Uluru/King's Canyon tour as you'll be one of the last to be collected and first dropped off as it's on that side of town.
