Convenient hotel close to the golf course.Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: Short walk to the golf course. In house restaurants. Free ice from ice machine on each floor was handy as in room freezer did not work.
Cons: Hotel should provide all available TV channels. Freezer in bar fridge did not freeze.
Location: Its a half hour walk into the town centre. Golf course & Casino are close by.
Stayed at the hotel for a week while participating in the Masters Games. The room was comfortable, staff were friendly & welcoming.

Poor locationPosted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: Friendly Staff
Cons: Check in is a mess when busy.
Location: Casino (and nothing else) is close by.
A long way from anywhere and if more then 3 or 4 people are checking in at the same time be prepared to wait a long while. Apart from that and the location it is a comfortable place to stay.

Nice quiet locationPosted Oct 14, 2014
Very pleasant good sized room with good AC & bathroom. Situated a little out of town, but easy to access. Pool well kept & restaurant in the hotel good but not cheap!

Location: Played 9 holes of golf it was an 18 hole course. We could see the 16 & 17 holes from our balcony
Great accommodations for the money paid. Only draw back paying for internet but they did have free in lobby.

Red Centre adventurePosted Sep 29, 2014
Cons: Housekeeping staff should routinely check the alarm clock in each room after previous occupant's check-out. Ours went off at 5am- not nice.
Location: A breakfast or lunch at nearby 'Olive Pink Botanic Gardens' is a must- peaceful surroundings amongst the flora and fauna. Interesting 'history' too.
We spent three nights at Double Tree by Hilton, and found it to be conveniently situated, very welcoming , peaceful and well appointed. The staff were helpful and polite. Although we didn't eat at The Deck restaurant, we did enjoy a wonderful meal at the Hanuman and also great buffet breakfasts. The yummy cookies on arrival are a nice touch, as is the basket of apples for guests to help themselves. Liked the resident peacock, too! Overall, a very nice hotel that we would recommend to our family and friends.

The location was very good and convenient.Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: The convenience and location
Cons: The temperature in the rooms have to kept cooler
Location: The town centre . A car is a must to do other sight seeing. There is a golf course right behind the hotel botanical garden down the road.
The location was was good as it was not too far from the town centre. It was easy drive distance to all the sightseeing places. The only negative thing I can say was the spa they had was cold and not very clean so one wanted to use it ( even other guest) the temperature in our room was quite warm so we could not get any sleep but when I casually the girl in housekeeping she immediately informed maintenance and sorted that out for us. They have an adequate Gym if you want to get a work out but again the spa in there was cold. Overall it was good and we had a wonderful stay

Don't Expect Too MuchPosted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: Hanuman Restaurant
Cons: Decor, service, facilities, training.
Location: Nothing nearby at all.
Stayed two nights either side of a six day desert walk and was very underwhelmed to say the least. There are NO five star hotels in Alice and this is probably the best of it but do not expect too much and you won't be disappointed. The staff were eager, friendly but incompetent and the hotel was clean and tidy in a 1970's kind of way. It seems that not a cent has been spent on the place for decades and the whole property gives off more of a motel vibe. My bedside alarm went off at 4.30 a.m. (great), the breakfast was so inedible (raw boiled eggs) and burnt filter coffee that when I sent it back the waitress was most embarrassed. The location is in the middle of no-where and the walk to "town" is not very attractive. The best thing this place has to offer is the fabulous Hanuman Restaurant which is run by a private operator. I would stay somewhere else next time as I'm sure it would be the same just closer to the centre. Hopefully the Hilton will make much needed some changes soon.

Disappointing stayPosted Jul 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
As a guest in the hotel I felt like an after thought. I received no cookie upon checking in, my room was located right next to the elevators, and for someone who was exhausted and wanted to get to sleep early, it was near impossible. I was in a room which is clearly designed for disabled guests as the shower head was too low (given the chair set up next in the shower with hand rails). I hurt my back trying to shower under such a low head which was not moveable. Overall, very disappointed! It also took over 3 days for the deposit to stop pending in my account, which I believe is a ridiculous amount of time when nothing was wrong with the room.
