Friendly, helpful staff. The room had a comfortable mattress and marble bathroom floor. A beautiful, tastefully furnished historic hotel. Good breakfast buffet in the bistro. The Lancaster is an upscale establishment. Felt like we got more luxury than we paid for.

This hotel impressed me with having the amenities I cared about. The decent-sized room had a small fridge, but also a small microwave and a few dishes—not a full kitchen, but enough to get by for many purposes. The bed was firm but comfortable. There was a feather duvet (which I had to get switched out as I am allergic to feathers), but hypo-allergenic (synthetic filling) pillows. Not only is internet access free, but so are the computers in the lobby, and printing, and the espresso machine and the snacks and soda pop in the lobby as well. Just convenient, everything is included, and the price is more than competitive. The restaurant/bar was also very good, albeit not open too late (closed at 10 on weeknights, 10:30 weekends).

unassuming, centrally located, a refreshing experience, with courteous and efficient staff without all the traffic and the "hustle and bustle" of chain hotels. Also, environmentally concious - guests have the option of deciding how often they want their linen and towels washed. Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Only drawback, no self-parking and a $28.00 daily valet service.
