The hotel is in a very good condition, neat and tidy but the air condition is not working. The staff is OK, services such as laundry is OK location is handy as it is close to transport to the city. The breakfast is reasonable for the price they are charging. I can recommend this with a condition to check if the air con system is working before confirning the booking.

"Visiting Tours for our University student daughter"
Similar to many parents of an university student on a student placement we had to visit Tours for a number of days so that our daughter could finalise the archaic registration and accomodation process so beloved of the French. Thus we were looking for a (relatively) inexpensive hotel with two rooms for five days with wifi access. In addition it also had to be reasonably accessible to the south of Tours (wherein the university is situated).
Proximity to modest restaurants (in terms of price) and access to a shopping centre were additional bonuses which were two minutes away by foot as well as access to the local bus system. All of these were achieved by this hotel which fully met our reasonable needs. This is particularly so in the case of free WIFI of which my family are heavy users.Mind that is no surprise but is very helpful when compared to other hotels which charge a heavy premium to simply communicate. Thus overall whilst positioned at the modest range of style and sophistication it certainly met our needs - and - perhaps -beyond.
The fact that we hit on a weekend where bus travel into Tours was free was an added bonus -this was courtesy of a Festival to celebrate the opening of a major extension to the tram system.Yes-they do celebrate these things - and no I can not conceive an English city having the gumption.

From the moment that we reached the car park of the hotel Mercure at Tours until we left after an over-night stay with friends/family it was a pleasant experience. Private car park directly infront of hotel, pleasant and efficient staff at reception, fast check-in, lifts adjacent, room up to home standards, windows could even be opened. Swimming pool clean, convenient and sufficient chairs/umbrellas. We eat out at a local steak house as large eaters in our group, so cost-effective and excellent. Had drinks, not cheap but in comfortable surroundings, back at hotel during and end of the day. Friendly and efficient service. Nuts etc to nibble were placed on table with our drinks. Near to airport but not exactly hearing planes. Check-out was efficient. Would certainly use this hotel in future. Travelled on to Dordogne for our hols. One group of our party booked to return a day early to get Caen etc sight-seeing and booked MERCURE hotel chain at Caen - they said, again excellent.

The hotel was clean, conveniently located near the river and just 3 kilometers form the city center of Tours. Nearby in either direction out of the hotel are wineries where you can do some wine tastings. Also, right out from the front of the hotel across the street is a park and the river which has a path where you can bike, walk or run. The staff where very friendly and helpful and assisted us with directions, information and making reservations at restaurants. We stayed in a superior room which had plenty of space and a reasonable sized bathroom. I would highly recommend this hotel and will stay their again the next time I am in Tours.

Very, very friendly staff. Owner and his wife work on the front desk. Although there is no elevator, they are very helpful people. Good location for a small town like Tours. Close to the train station and tourism office. Lots of restaurant nearby. It was awesome.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel, booked two rooms. The staff are great and welcoming; always there to help advise on tours or trips. The hotel is nicely located, within a short walk from the train station and the tourist information centre - from where several tours to the chateaus originate. The town centre is also nearby, and we only ever walked to and from the hotel while we were there. The hotel rooms were the biggest surprise, charming in their layout and very spacious. The free wifi was also of good quality within the hotel, which was nice. The breakfast buffet was adequate and priced at 8 euros per person.
