OK for a short stayPosted Nov 13, 2013
Location: Sort of close to Hadrians wall country
Supper was good from he bar. The bathroom was very dated as was the rest of the décor. No flatscreen TV in the room only an old large box that was difficult to see from the bed,

nice hotel, good location.Posted Jul 29, 2013
Pros: quiet. swimming.
Cons: hard bed. breakfast just about OK.
Location: quiet location on the scenic A68 road to Scotland, Handy for Hadrian's Wall, Durham and Beamish.
Decent 3 star hotel in good quiet location with health club and swimming facilities. Rooms as expected, slightly hard mattress. Breakfast adequate but not spectacular eg limited variety of tinned fruit, no tongs for bread slices.

In need of a refurbPosted Jul 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel location was good and the hotel looks fine from the outside, however inside it is a little dated and the rooms are in need of modernisation - quite a dark interior decor and the bathroom is showing its age. The gym is quite small with a number of machines and weights, however some of the machines are not working and the remainder are in varying states of functionality. I did not use the pool. The staff are pleasant enough, and were quick to deliver the electric fan to my room (no air conditioning in the rooms). I thought the food was OK (although they ran out of my first choice, and the bar restaurant was not very busy), but expensive.

Had a lovely time!Posted Jul 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
What a lovely location and lovely hotel. We took our too young children to the hotel and they loved it too. Room was large, very clean and had comfi beds. Great views across the, countryside. Because there was a restaurant and bar, we didn't need to look far for food...which made the whole visit relaxing. Breakfast was amazing...something for everyone and again delicious! Best of all was the pool......lovely! We went to Beamish (which wasn't too far away) the following day. The staff were very pleasant and couldn't have done enough. When we arrived the manager gave our kids sweeties, which they thought was amazing! Great value for money. Would recommend!
