“A nice surprise in Bethelem”

My wife and I travel many places and countries. We both have alot of experience from five star hotels on down. From the moment we arrived (Gus the front desk to Lisa the bartender) we were treated well. Is this a five star hotel?No. The price we paid(Breakfast buffet included) makes this a very good deal.

“Ok”

The hotel was ok but what do u expect for the last moment booking? The restaurant was ok and the hotel is situated in the historic district so there are a lot of sites around to go and visit.

“Much better than expected”

When we pulled up, we didn't think we wanted to stay there and thought about other options. But, once we decided to bite the bullet, we were pleasantly surprised. The lobby was nice, the room clean and comfortable, the staff friendly. The breakfast was not great, but it was free. Just fine for a quick night while we were on a college tour trip.

“Nice hotel, sad neighborhood”

The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The facility has recent upgrades to make it very modern. The only downside is the surrounding area. It is a depressed area where you would not want to go on a walking tour. The issue isn't safety, it's just that ever since Bethlehem Steel Co. went bust and left the whole area destitute, they have had trouble attracting new businesses to the area, and much of downtown Bethlehem is boarded up. The one saving grace is the Sands Casino. They have taken over some of the Bethlehem Steel property and have built a casino with hotel. I think it's the nicest Casino in Pennsylvania. There is a shuttle that takes you from the hotel to the casino, which is only a 5 minute drive. Our driver, Jack, is a very friendly guy who can tell you everything you want to know about the steel company and the surrounding area. (Did you know that they used the Bethlehem Steel Co. facilities to shoot the popular Transformer movies?) Overall, we had a nice stay and would go again when we travel through the area.

“ok-overall”

Friendly atmosphere, good breakfast, quiet. The only negative was both beds had stains on the covers.
