Bad hotel not worth it!!!!!!!Posted Sep 2, 2013
Cons: everything could be improved
Location: dorney park
Lousy service. too much noise on the first floor, the money I paid was not worth it at all. Do not come to this hotel couldn't sleep for a minute too much noise and you could hear everyone's conversation.

Close to Dorney but old & beat upPosted Sep 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed at the Howard Johnson Inn & Suites by Dorney Park in Allentown, PA. The location is very convenient. It is right down the street from Dorney, right next door to a Perkins restaurant & across the street from a Dunkin Donuts & strip mall with many other eateries. However, the hotel itself is old, and beat. The furniture was old as well as the bath room. It was in desperate need of a make over. It did appear clean. We only stayed one night so it sufficed for our needs, but I would try the Comfort Suites or Holiday Inn Express which are located on the same street before I stayed at this Howard Johnson Inn again.

Hotel needs helpPosted Aug 31, 2013
Pros: The location to Dorney Park
Cons: The bed was so hard the hallway smelled of old cigarettes.
Location: Lots of restaurants and stores.
This is was disappointing hotel. The smell was horrible in the hallway. They tried to hide the old cigarette smell. If this hotel wasn't across the street from Dorney Park I would have never chosen it. I would have rather driving out further for a better hotel. The pool and spa needed lots of work.

Close to Dorney, which is where we wentPosted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: Please read above
Cons: It was fine
Location: We went to Dorney park. THe hotel was so close, just what we wanted!
Hotel stay was pleasant, but the best part was that we forgot three articles of clothing, and we called the hotel the next day. The people at the front desk during the day were wonderful, and they mailed out clothing back to us the following week. I then called and gave my credit card number to pay for it. We are SO grateful for the clothes back, as two of the three items were gifts. We will definitely recommend this hotel. Many praises to the manager who got the articles to us. You should be proud to have such a great employee working for you!

No bad for the price paid. Only stayed for one night. The hotel needs some renovation. The breakfast was Ok. 2 minutes away from Dorney Park. Didn't use the indoor pool. I'd stay there again for one night.

Close to Dorney ParkPosted Aug 13, 2013
Pros: Close to Dorney Park and restaurants.
We stayed here because its so close to Dorney Park and its pet friendly. Although I got a "pet friendly room" there was no excuse for some of the apparent lack of maintenance. The shower rod was not set properly, towels were lousy quality, rugs were all ripped up, walls had damage by the reclining chair, although a smoke-free room it reeked of cigarettes, overall decor of the room like wall paper borders were not complete. I looked into adjoining rooms during their housekeeping and they were all in much better shape. If they charge extra for the pet due to the "possibility" there might be accidents, which we didn't have, then our room should look and smell like the others. Otherwise charge me less since I'm going to be in the crappy room. The breakfast area, front desk and pool all were tiny and not very well kept. It really looked like overall one of the most run down Inns/Hotels I've ever stayed at. Desk clerk was polite and quick about the check in and check out.
