amazing volcanoes

Posted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: great staff and always willing to accommodate all of our needs. It does help if you can speak some Spanish.
Cons: There was no wait staff at the pool area or towels while we were visiting.
Location: Hike the nonactive volcano. Antigua is only 30 min away and has some interesting architecture.
Beautiful golf course (very steep on the front 9) but the erupting volcano was by far the most exciting part of the trip! It is only 8km from the resort, the constant vibration and plume of ash was very exciting.

Great stay, food in restaurant for lunch or dinner could be better, for price the food is adequate, breakfast though one of the greatest buffets I've tried with so many choices of both local and international food. Scenery is amazing, weather great, no to cold not to hot, a bit distant from Antigua Guatemala if you intend to go just for a meal (not walking distance), but if you are going for a relax weekend you don't need to leave the hotel at all, and for a day trip it's a 30-40 minute drive to Antigua. Staff is amazing, very clean rooms and great comfy beds.

Great hotel, great service, great facilities The fact that you are so close to a active volcano is just amazing suits so unique and some have privete pools However needs some details Like more lights on the paths, screen doors, door censors to make it energy efficient Pay more attention to room cleanliness

Don't stay at this hotel unless you play golf.

Posted Jan 12, 2015
Pros: The location downhill the active volcano - "Fuego".
Cons: See details in "our experience" section.
Location: there is nothing nearby. It is ~40 minutes away from Antigua. Better stay at Antigua.
The service was not what I expect from a 5 star hotel. The room was missing many things - some existed in the room description, some are basics in 5 star hotel. To list few: 1. Mini Bar - in the room description, did not exist. When I called reception they actually argued with me that I am not eligible for one. After insisting that it appeared in the room details, instead of arranging it - they sent someone with plastic bowl with all mini bar content mix in it ! 2. Coffee/Tea maker - did not exist. When we asked for one - they brought one, but there was no wall socket, except the suitcase place, so they placed the suitcase just in the middle of the carpet, to make room for the coffee maker. In addition it usually arrive with some tea bags, sugar, etc - to actually be able to make tea/coffee - not in this place. They offer to sell you coffee bags in pounds. 3. After 2 calls to reception - the phone said "not enough credit" - then you have to walk to reception, which is about 7 minutes away from the room, in a different building. 4. There were no bathrobes, as detailed in room description, and we got ones only 3 hours later. after notifying about it as soon as we got the room. 5. no papers / pen - when I could reach reception, to write down the internet password, there was no pen/paper available in the room. 6. There was no room service menu in the room. 7. the "heated infinity pool" was cold as ice, and they claimed "it is impossible to heat external pool in the wind", but it

Great magical place!!

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Pros: Landscape, beautiful property, the pool, the food, the wine and LOVE THE STAFF!!!
Cons: Free transportation to Antigua,. They charge 40 dollars each way- so 80 total. I think is cheaper to rent a car
Location: Antigua is 30 minutes away. I know they have hiking, climbing and other activities besides golf in the property but we did not do them
My experience in la reunion was simply AWESOME. Lets start by the setting: is an absolute magical place surrounded by volcanoes, you wake up to green fields and wonderful landscapes. The property is very well kept. The suite was absolutely lovely and very spacious. Jacuzzi, hot tub, big terrace and gorgeous bathroom. The food: excellent!! it was so good that we did not feel like leaving the hotel. They even have a wine place well stock in there!!! The staff: well trained, excellent customer service skills, very pleasant people. This is a place to relax. This is TOTAL luxury for a very good price!

You must visit this hotel close to Guatemala City

Posted Jun 2, 2014
This place is located in between many volcanoes in Guatemala, the view is spectacular, the golf course unique and the rooms luxurious. You have to drive for Guatemala City for about an hour but it is totally worth it. Every room has its pool, Jacuzzi and beautiful views. The food in the restaurant is expensive but delicious.

Relaxing!!!

Posted May 1, 2014
Stayed fo four nights in a suite with private pool. I upgraded to a suite because regular rooms doesn't have private pools. Only cons is that there is no bathrobes in the room, I think that a room at this price and with a private pool, a bathrobe should be a must. Also walking from room to restaurant is uphill ans suffocating, you can call front desk and rhey pick you at the room but sometime it can take a while. Otherwise is a great hotel if you are looking for a relax weekend.
