“Amazing views, good menu, and very accomidating to English speakers”
My brothers and I book a weekend package ski trip through Expedia and chose the Hôtel Les Campanules based on price alone. We had no expectations as we just needed a place that could accomidate three adults. We found the hotel easy to find. Our room was small, but had the essentials, Amazing views of Mt. Blanc, hot shower, separate WC. The meals were hearty and prices good. The activity room had comfortable chairs but other than the TV, nothing worked (i.e. pool table, piano was locked, stereo, darts, etc). Regardless, we'd stay here again and would recommend it to family and friends.
“I would visit again”
When place has the warmth of a ski resort (actually it is a ski resort, but we were there in the late spring). The food is wonderful but a bit pricey. Unlike most places we stayed in Europe, breakfast was not included in the room rate. The rooms were small by American standards, but very nice. There is bar on site. The managers spoke English very well and was very helpful in helping us plan nearby events. Mont Blanc is less than 15 minutes from the hotel.
“Charming ski hotel”
This is a very pleasant hotel with a great view of Mont Blanc. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the restaurant is good. The hotel is decorated well and the lobby is cozy with lots of sofas and a double fireplace. There is also a lounge and a games room.
“Great for the mountain adventurer”
Wonderful chalet, with a contemporary yet mountain cabin ambiance. The staff were very friendly, courteous, and accommodating. The views were spectacular!! We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend!
“Beautiful location”
We got the 'Mont Blanc' view room for the price of a forest view room: the view was spectacular. The location is nice, but the noise of the highway down in the valley is significant. The saff intervened very adequately when guests in the room nextdoor me too much noise and were smoking.
“Good Value”
Good hotel for the value.
“Little room with a great view”
Nice, but a little bit budget hotel with nice view, car parking and it is close to Chamonix.
“Not recommended”
This hotel is NOT conveniently located, and kind-of-but-not-really walking-accessible to the main bus route that goes through Les Houches, Chamonix, and the other ski locations. I walked it with a backpack, but I would never try it with ski or snowboard gear. The free hotel shuttle to the Les Houches ski area is pretty inflexible on times it will take you down and pick you up. If you stay here, you really need to have a car to come and go as you please. While the room was well-kept, very quaint, and had a great view, the radiator broke 3 times while I was there. The hotel staff seemed so put-out with having to deal with it the first 2 times that when it broke again around 11 pm the last night I was there, I just bundled up with blankets and told them about it as I was leaving in the morning so they could fix it again for the next unsuspecting soul. The shower provided a maximum of 2-3 minutes of hot water each time, which, after a long day skiing, was really disappointing. This place was overall technically adequate, but not enjoyable. I won't stay here for next year's ski trip.
