“Ok if you don't mind traveling 35 min to the Grand Tetons”
The room was alright, but the hotel bar/restaurant were excellent. If you don't stay at the hotel, for sure eat at their restaurant!
“Far away from yellowstone”
Hotel was nice and if just visiting Teton National Park or the national forest it is a great place to stay. Clean room, friendly staff, restaurant ok. Beautiful setting on Snake River. It is over 3&1/2 hours away from south entrance to yellowstone so not practical for more than one day visit to yellowstone. It is 35 miles from Jackson Hole so great way to get away from that crowd and still enjoy Jackson Hole activities.
“Scenery exceeds the "resort"”
The Flying Saddle Resort needs updating. The furniture is very old, beds are extremely uncomfortable, and the hotel staff needs instruction on how to handle a dilemma. I personally witnessed a couple being chastised for making an error in their reservation--was like being transported back to primary school where teachers could still use corporal punishment. I felt very embarrassed for them, as did everyone else standing around who was not involved in the situation. The restaurant makes all sorts of claims, but both times my husband and I went to eat there during posted hours of operation, there was no one around to greet us, seat us, or much less feed us. Despite the beauty of this place (it is located on the Snake River), I would not stay here again due to my lackluster impression of the room and the resort staff. Additionally, its proximity to Jackson Hole is inconvenient.
“Perfect Alternative to High Priced Jackson”
This motel/cabin resort is just south of Jackson and the Tetons. It might be preferred if you'd rather be out of the goings on in Jackson. There was a family reunion/anniversary event going on when we were there. The family there cooked out their own food and seemed to enjoy the facility. The number did seem to cramp the enjoyment of the other guests. We really could not sit in the lovely patio/waterfall area as the entire space was taken. There only 1 night, but we did go to the back of the resort and enjoyed the extensive grounds along the Snake River. Very peaceful. Also a special area set aside for dog relief. We could see the new cabin block (it is really a row of connected cabins with private balconies or porches overlooking the river). We were in a dog room so I can't really say much for that accomodation. The rug under the airconditioning was water damaged and a bit pulled up. There was a jacuzzi set up in the bath that we did not use. Beds were comfortable The entire facility was very nice. Had a dining room where we had breakfast. There was a buffet that did not look particularly lavish for the price you would pay. Also it did not include juice and coffee which I thought odd, especially since you were paying. There is a gift shop and reasonably priced liquor store on the premises. You can take liquor bought in the store into the dining area for consumption. A good choice on the way to the Tetons and possibly just a nice place to stay for exploring the park.
“From Northwest Kansas”
Beautiful view from the room, nice facility but no elevator in our building,
“Nice Stay”
The hotel is older but well kept. Nice pool and great mountain views. We did not try the onsite dinning room as it is very pricey. The area is beautiful but limited in eating choices. The residential area nearby is iffy at best. Close to Jackson and a beautiful drive to get there. Not really close enough to Yellowstone for a comfortable day trip.Linens were clean and the room had no odors. The carpet is a little dirty but not too bad. Would stay again
“remote and dated”
way off the beaten path, we missed small print stating "36 miles from Jackson". With long, winding road with ongoing significant construction, took us almost an hour to arrive from the T-intersection. moldy smell in room, decor and furnishings dated from 1970's. Restaurant looked pleasing, rustic decor, etc., but food way overpriced and adequate tasting, at best. couldn't wait to leave. luckily only reserved one night.
“Will stay elsewhere next time”
Great restaurant & wonderful service. The room was VERY old & gave us a bit of a hassle regarding having a small dog with us which I had mentioned when booking. Be sure & call before you arrive to make sure they have a rm. available for pets, otherwise they give you a older rm.
“Relaxing way to spend a night . . .”
The Flying Saddle Resort was a stop along a long journey. Spent a day traveling through Yellowstone and stopped in Alpine.
“Cannot sleep in the hotel”
The hotel looks nice at the first sight - nested between green mountains and sitting right on the bank of a river. Room was spacious and furnature was new. However, there was one thing that troubled me most- the snoring sound from my neighbor. I could not get into sleep until very late, was so tired in the morning and decided to make myself a coffe before finding that there was no power from the designated outlet. I had to move the coffe maker to TV outlet. After 20 munites' waiting, the cup was only half full-apparently the maker was not functioning properly... I decided to check out immediately. When i told the front desk about the power outlet and coffee maker, all i received was "thank you for letting us know" - no apology at all.
