Good location to visit Big Bend National Park

I liked the location (kind of close to Big Bend National Park - approx. 1.5 hours), great breakfast (at the Penny's restaurant), good and clean room

Very Bare Bones Accommodations

The room was dirty, there was long hair on the bed comforter, the exhaust fan didn't work in the bathroom, and the bed was very uncomfortable. Overall, a very unsatisfied stay.

Good ole laid back, friendly, hospitable Alpine folk. I left my laptop in the room, contacted the manager & they locked it in the office until a friend picked it up for me. Very comfortable & quiet room at a great price.

Not Too Shabby

Posted Nov 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Oak Tree is was not a bad little hotel stay. The back door didn't lock though, so it wasn't the most secure, but the town itself is relatively safe, so we weren't worried about it or anything. The room was clean and comfortable, but a little updating would give it a better feel. The breakfast at Penny's was pretty good and typical diner food.
