Hotel Greif is a lovely properly. Old town Bolzano is not that large and the hotel is right there off of Walthaplaz. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the train station and 7 minutes to the bus station-they are adjacent to one another. There are plenty of great restaurants just steps away. The rooms are a decent size for Europe-with bathrobes and slippers in the room. The room was clean and quiet with a tea and coffee maker in the room along with tea and cofee. Breakfast was a selection of cereals, fruit, choice of eggs made to order, breads, cheeses, meats, yogurt, some vegetables and desserts. I would easily stay here again. It is a lovely hotel in a great location. You will not be disappointed should you chose to book this property.

Absolutely stunning hotel and room. My double was on the top floor overlooking the iconic Bolzano square and even featured a baby-grand piano. Everything was spotless and stylish. There was an initial wobble with my reservation between Expedia and the hotel but the front desk was eventually able to sort it out. Some rooms are up a flight of stairs so those with mobility issues should double check with the hotel before finalizing the booking.

A very nice hotel with a very spacious, clean room. Breakfast was also lovely and I was able to leave luggage with them before and after check out while I explored the city. I also love its downtown location. My one caveat is that I was put in room 212 which was supposedly on the second floor. However, it actually entailed taking the elevator to the second floor, going down six stairs, then up eight stairs, entering into a different part of the hotel and climbing another 18 stairs. While the payoff was a great room, it was a bit of a hassle hauling luggage up and down. That said, most rooms were much more accessible. I think I got this room because it was one of the last available.

Lovely and unique
Staff was lovely and helpful at reception and in the dining space. The room was uniquely designed. Surprising and comfortable storage solutions! Location is perfect, right on the piazza, and with a (paid) public underground parking lot right underneath.

Great location on the main square of Bolzano, albeit the bells from the Cathedral might keep you awake at night. The breakfast was excellent with great local produce and nice service. I liked the gym as well which was very well-equipped for a small European hotel. The hotel had a couple of free bikes which I used to tour the city, and their reception staff were very nice. On the other hand, I was placed in a top-floor room which was a slightly odd layout with the bed on a mezzanine level reaching into the attic roof. The room had only a sky-light and a small window; I found it a bit odd and the living area wasn't laid out in a conducive way to sit and relax. Also, the heating was quite fierce. I found the room very hot and dry and had to have the skylight open during the night as the hot air gets trapped in the roof where the bed is.

The staff was gracious and attentive and location was terrific. The elevator landings were several steps above the room floors so carrying heavy bags down was inconvenient.

Perfect German-style hotel: great amenities and stunning property. Right at a square and by the main stations for transportation. The food was wonderful for breakfast and the suite was truly beautiful.

Great luxury hotel. Room decoration is superb
Great hotel. Very well decorated. The down side is that it has many stairs, so if you have a heavy luggage, take it into consideration
