Pretty setting.

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: Setting very nice, room was clean, staff obliging.
Cons: Better service in the dining room.
The stay was fine except the coffee was cold each morning and the food tepid to cold. Annoying given the coat of the room.

Cozy Country Stay

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: Country-life! The Dining Room; Headwaters! Lovely layout & food & service
Cons: Reception Desk presence: all times of day - pleasant staff req'd Buzzing/humm in suite through night Housekeeping: attention to detail
Location: The Mill Arts Centre! LOVED this entire experience, talking with local artists. Orangeville: Broadway shops and restaurants. The Millcroft property
We've heard about the Millcroft Inn & Spa... and finally, we experienced it for our Sister Weekend Getaway! Though just as we are seeing winter on it's exit (we always hoped) and find this a tough time of year for any place to look really presentable, we were still delighted with our experience at the Millcroft, despite roads being under construction just approaching the driveway. Arriving early in hopes to explore the walking trails throughout the property, we inquired at the Reception Desk, but did not have a warm welcome. We were provided a map of the property and told we were welcome to explore. Walking these paths was far more of a challenge than reading the maps. Should you have sufficient energy and daylight, you may enjoy this 'task'. It was a lovely walk, but left us a little anxious to know we were free to walk in a planned direction. The suite had a lovely view of the river and provided a lovely & peaceful night's rest (despite a loud HUMMM near-by: generator?). The pool is perfectly situated, allowing lots of gorgeous sunlight to fill the room (excellent swim while seeing the snow outside!). And the water temperature was perfect: not too hot! The spa facilities were even better than we'd expected! Lovely atmosphere! We each enjoyed a facial and a full-body massage. -to which we say some of the BEST service EVER! It is SO LOVELY that the Alton Mill Arts Centre is practically beside the Inn... a must-see!!! We'd love to return for a class there.

A lovely getaway

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Staff were absolutely lovely. Property was vast and picturesque. Room was small, but the lofty high ceilings made it feel much bigger and spacious. Loved the towel warmer. Did not eat at the restaurant, because the menu seemed limited and overpriced. Pool, hot tub, steam room, entertainment room could use some updates. They were clean, but seemingly outdated. Hiking trails were wonderful. All in all, I would recommend - and hope to go back myself someday.

Pleasant historical country setting

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: The historical rennovation and setting
Cons: My room on the top floor had a steady dackground hum from a roof ventlator or something. It kind of spoiled the quiet country atmosphere.
Location: A country get away where you can skate, snow shoe, and use the spa and pool. Recreational facilities may cost extra at check out.
The concept is good but the facility is starting to look a bit dog eared.

Very cold Valentine weekend, lovely warm stay.

Posted Feb 18, 2015 on Hotels
Coldest couple of days this year for our sibling get together, 2 couples, was to be 3 but unfortunately one couple were not able to make it. Very relaxed weekend, had beautiful meals at the Inn, breakfast and both evenings. My husband and I were in room 301, which was very comfortable, king bed plus a sitting area. Only one negative comment from us, we would have liked a bar fridge in the room. Everything else was just about perfect, a very enjoyable stay, friendly and accommodating service from the staff.

Great staff, great place

Posted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: Staff, food, amenities (didn't have time to use the pool).
Location: Great nearby bakery with wide-ranging lunch and dinner menu. Great arts centre with lots to see there, too.
Had a great weekend getaway at Millcroft Inn. Staff were excellent, without exception. Facilities were great, with some easy-going walking trails available for us to use. We stayed in what I would describe as a 'rowhouse cabin,' with fireplace and loft-bedroom. Very nice, though a little dark.

The Millcroft Inn was a wonderful place, beautiful, comfortable, clean, and, above all, especially well served by staff. Terrific stay.

Charming Location

Posted Nov 24, 2014 on Hotels
The location is charming and peaceful. Staff were courteous and friendly. The room and hotel decor getting a little tired. The drywall handrail going downstairs needs repairs. A very small mirror in the main part of our room and an even smaller TV! We were very disappointed to have more of a computer monitor for the size of a TV. It was advertised with a 47" and what we had was about a 19". We could not see it from the bed. Although we don't watch a lot of TV, the option would have been nice to watch a movie. It gets very dark in the room when the curtains are closed so it would be a good idea to have a night light somewhere near the door by the bathroom for safety. There are 2 steps going down to the main room from the door where the bathroom is located. We had a lovely view from the room, overlooking the waterfall! Beautiful with the snow! Dinner was amazing in the dining room and the staff were superb!
