“A home away from home!”

The personnel were friendly and very helpful. My room was clean. The carpet could have been shampooed, but everything else was fine. I was pleased to have a coffee maker, fridge and microwave in the room. Also enjoyed using the exercise room. The breakfast bar was quite sufficient and had a good variety of items. Overall, of the other motels in the area that I have stayed in the Super 8 was the best, and I will stay there again .

Was in Altoona for a particular event in downtown proper. This hotel had a better proximity than the event's preferred hotel, which I couldn't afford as easily. I had a highway side room, which due to the elevation above the road, traffic noise didn't bother me. The room was large, staff kept it clean, there are options to have linens changed daily or not. It looks like a small safe box, freezer and microwave are routine in the room. The continental breakfast was adequate. If you wanted something else, there are all sorts of eateries within walking distance. Overall: pleasant enough.

“Ok for price and limited stay”

Smoking and Non-Smoking rooms were alternated on the same floor. The lobby smelled like smoke when we walked in. Being a non-smoker this was annoying. Smoking rooms should have been on the top floor, and non smoking on bottom floor - not on the same. For the price I may stay again if it's for a limited time, but not for longer stay. Rooms were clean and it was easy to get to.

“Altoona”

Great hotel. It was very clean, the rooms had a microwave, refrigerator, and safe, and the breakfast was a great addition. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and will stay here again if in the area.

“Okay”

Bare bones, pretty high price for very few amenities. Would only stay there again if I couldn't find a better place to stay (which is why I stayed there). Most of the light bulbs in my room burned out over my 3 night stay. The hallways reeked of smoke, although the room did not. Front desk people were efficient but not very friendly; not unfriendly just matter of fact and I don't recall a smile in the 4 days I stayed. Just okay.
