In the central "old town" of Frankfurt. The hotel is beautiful and service excellent. Room was nicely appointed and ready when I arrived in the morning from an international flight. The best!

ExquisitePosted May 17, 2015
Pros: The staff, the décor of the hotel, the location.
Cons: Room renovations done later in the day.
Location: Right near the opera, Starbucks, plenty of bars restaurants the Galleria Mall, the Main River.
I can't say enough wonderful things about The Steigenberger Hof. The location is right in the middle of everything you could possible want to be around on vacation. The opera, plenty of bars, restaurants, museums, stores and the Main River. The room was spacious and pretty, with doors that open to a nice view (the staff accommodated my request for a view). The staff was very professional and courteous, but the hotel never felt snobby. The hotel is well appointed with marble and fresh flowers everywhere, it was a pleasure to walk into each day. The spa was the nicest I have ever been to with so many different steam rooms. Don't miss a drink at the bar, also with impeccable service or dinner at Francais. I will definitely come back to The Steigenberger Hof next time I am in Frankfurt, I had a great time. The only negative was there was renovation work being done to the room next door which woke me up at 9am and I am a late sleeper, but I can't blame the hotel too much for that.

Nice on the outside, but rooms need workPosted May 17, 2015
Walking into the lobby and checking in you'd think that you were about to stay at one of the nicest hotels in Europe. But the halls look like they are from the 80's and the rooms look like they have the original carpet from the 70's. My bathroom smelled of sewage the whole time (seems like the trap keeping sewage gas from creeping back in the building isn't working right), and the A/C was broken. Luckily it was just cool enough to sleep with the windows wide open. Not the nicest way to spend the last night of our honeymoon on layover from a long flight. Add on the fact the only thing open late on Sunday nearby is one of the Lobby restaurants and it cost almost 80 euro for a modest dinner for two (schnitzel and hamburger) and we felt we'd been had. The same meal was under half price and twice as good at Salzkammer down the street. We enjoyed Frankfurt but would undoubtedly stay somewhere else next time.

Nice business trip to FrankfurtPosted May 4, 2015
Pros: The ambiance is incredible.
Cons: In general, the room was great except for some minor failures in the water draining in the tub (some minor maintenance is needed). Beware of the free
Location: The hotel is very well located, walking distance from main tourist attractions, Svan station in front. I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel.
Great staff, very efficient with excellent attitude. I arrived one hour before check in and my room was ready.

Mixed FeelingsPosted Apr 16, 2015
Was very excited about this hotel and perhaps my expectations were too high but the room was a big disappointment. Arrival was friendly but they had not noticed two rooms had been booked. My room was very plain, no decoration, water marked lampshades and a reading lamp that didn't work. The door also didn't open due to a battery needing replaced and they had to take it off its hinges. By contrast the other room was much more pleasant. The Spa was great and I would really recommend this. The bar and staff were wonderful with a great piano player. The outdoor area was delightful for lunch in the sun. Just wish they hadn't put me in such a poor room and I think they knew it wasn't good but due to the error made on not noticing two rooms they took a chance.
