We absolutely enjoyed the beach, pool and breakfast and were charmed by the stray well behaved cat that frequented the outside lounging areas. The resort should thank the local cats for holding down any rodent problem by getting them fixed and providing a small area for them within the grounds where they could be fed and given fresh water daily. That investment would cost less than any exterminator service and ensure the stray cat population was properly managed. The view from our terrace was lovely. However, the tennis court, mini putt golf holes, water feature in the back by the swing set all needed maintenance which clearly has been ignored for sometime. With a bit of elbow grease, paint, new sand and putting surfaces these areas could be brought back and enjoyed instead of giving an overall dated and dilapidated feel to the resort. The water feature which has the bridge over which everyone must walk to head to the beach was stagnant with leaves, debris and even a dead bird floating around in it for the entire time we were there. Fill it in with sand or plant it if it cannot be kept up, but leaving it to be a haven for mosquito growth and rotting black birds is not only unsanitary it projects the opposite of what you want to have guest perceive. Two of the elevators state the wrong floor prior to the doors opening. The rooms and hallways are a bit dated, but kept clean and usable. The AC units work, but are loud. Frankly, the outside complex could use a coat of paint.

I would cone back
It is an old building but pretty well conserved. The staff was so kind amd helpfull and ALL the rooms has sea view. It is right in front of it. The rooms are big and confortable. Great experience.

Great family hotel.
Fabulous three nights at the Altura Eurotel. We had a family suite which was enormous and perfect for us. The service throughout the hotel was friendly and efficient. The kids club was great. Breakfast every morning was plentiful and delicious! It is an older hotel but they have done a great job of updating it. The walls are quite thin so if you are a light sleeper beware! Also the Spa/Indoor pool was quite small and not worth the extra charges. Apart from that I have nothing negative to say and would definitely return!

Lovely view of the beach from the room. Lovely outdoor pool area and access to the beach direct from the hotel. Lift seemed to break a lot and only just one lift serving all ten floors so had to wait a long time to get on. Lift also quite small.

The outside of the building is intimidating because it is a tall high rise interrupting a beautiful coastline. Everything about the inside and grounds is excellent. Outstanding return for the money. Spacious clean rooms. Lovely pool and grounds around it. Private beach access and amenities on the beach. Delicious and expansive breakfast buffet. Nice service. A great find on a long beach in a cute town.

A very pleasant hotel. Excellent breakfast. Can’t comment on evening meal as B&B. Rooms adequate but could hear noise from other rooms. Excellent location of hotel for village amenities with plenty of places for evening meals. Everybody extremely friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay here.

The hotel has a great location and a private beach but needs significant refurbishment and the corridoors and lifts have a unpleasant smell of stale cooking all the time. Tennis court needs attention.

I have been visiting this hotel, on and off, since 1996 and it never fails to disappoint. Situated in the quiet village of Altura, the hotel has everything you need when looking for a calming, peaceful, relaxing holiday or short break. The staff are friendly yet professional and always happy to help. The hotel has a light and airy restaurant where you can enjoy a buffet breakfast with both hot and cold options and a waiter service evening meal. There is a snack bar overlooking the pool and gardens, where a light lunch or snack can be enjoyed. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and have all you need i.e. wardrobe space, safe, TV, hospitality tray, hairdryers and complimentary toiletries. All rooms enjoy a sea view. Just one point, two complimentary coffee pods are provided daily, however if you request extra coffee pods for your inroom coffee machine, you will be charged €1 per pod. The hotel offers a range of spa facilitates in its Wellness Centre which are so relaxing and won't break the bank. The Wellness Centre has a heated indoor pool, steam room and rainforest shower which are free to use when buying a treatment. To use independently, there is a cost of €7.50pp. Eurotel has an adequate outdoor pool with sunbeds plus a parasol covered seating area. There is a well stocked bar in the lounge area where you can enjoy a quiet drink whilst listening to or watching the evening entertainment. An ideal hotel and location for couples and older holiday makers.

Love the location. Right on the beach. Indoor pool. Park etc make it ideal for the kids. Breakfast is good. Buffet in the evening in low season is poor as is the a la carte menu which is also limited !! There are good restaurants in the area.

A lovely stay - very peaceful for mid August!
We have recently returned from an 11 night stay at Altura Beach Hotel and had the most lovely relaxing time. We very much enjoyed our time there. Reception staff, Porters etc. all friendly, accommodating and helpful. Our room was a good size and our 16 year old son had a separate bed in a little annex in the room which was ideal – air conditioning was above his head so he needed a blanket at night! Bathroom large and smart – looked new. We had one of the small balconies – would have preferred a larger one but was not an issue. We opted for B & B and glad we did – breakfast was excellent and everything we could want fresh and when needed to be hot. Pool and gardens lovely – we stayed under trees or in sun in the gardens – lovely. Pool never really busy and thankfully no need to get up at 8.00 am to secure beds. The beach is fantastic – beautifully wide clean white sandy beach – empty at 7 am and stunning, packed by 9.30 so we used to take walks along the beach and swam in sea etc. but then returned to pool. Very clean and well maintained.

Hotel was great, staff extremely helpful and facilities in the hotel were great. Hotel was spacious and clean. The area is quiet yet has some nice bars and restaurants which are reasonably priced. Easy to get taxi to next towns along for sightseeing.

Nice hotel, shame about the food
Hotel is well situated, connected to the beach by a 250m boardwalk. It has lots of outdoor activities - mini golf, tennis court, basketball hoop, 5-a-side pitch, swimming pool and grass areas. The buffet breakfast is excellent, pity the same cannot be said for the buffet dinner, we tried this the last time we stayed here and learnt from experience, even the enticement of a free bottle of wine with dinner could not compensate for the standard of the food. There was an al a carte menu available, but I think the kitchen would have been in a state of shock should anyone have ordered from it! This was really the only downside of the hotel. However, on our most recent stay there was a full fire evacuation at 11am which meant walking down 12 flights of stairs and for someone with limited mobility that is some ask! Also the lifts were not turned back on again for us to check that we had packed everything so my wife got a lot of steps in that morning! Overall a perfectly good hotel with all rooms sea-facing, ask for a high floor, but just be wary in case of fire or fire drill! There is a spa at the hotel but cannot comment as we have not made use of this facility. There are lots of good restaurants close by for an evening meal so don't be afraid to try out somewhere else. (O Infante restaurant and the local Gastro Pub to mention but a few)

Plus side. Clean room and glitzy public areas. Good size outside pool which was cleaned daily. All rooms have good sea views. Cold buffet breakfast provides a good choice of items. Downside. Small room (604) and very tiny bathroom. No sound insulation between rooms. You hear every cough, snore etc from the room next door. In the bathroom it is even worse what you hear! Wifi is unsecured and less than 1mbps, not even enough to load pics on bbc news on iPad. Bar prices are from another planet. Bottle of water placed in the room is not free and priced at over 3 euros. Hot buffet breakfast items, (eggs, beans, bacon etc) cold or at best luke warm and unappetising. Sorry but would not recommend unless you like sleep deprivation.
