Very nice Hotel. Great location,wonderful staff.Posted Oct 23, 2013
Pros: Location. Price. Breakfast. Staff
Location: Visit the town, visit to Pompei, walk of the Gods
The location is very good but the walk to town is not an easy one as you must negotiate 400 steps each way. The staff was excellent and very helpful. Breakfast was terrific each day. What a view! We'd definitely stay again. The room was a bit warm and the Air Cond was turned off for the season but this seemed to be mandated by the Government, strange but true! Every hotel we stayed at told us this .

Great Hotel for a Teenage Family!Posted Aug 17, 2013
Pros: Massive pool, reception staff, great views.
Cons: Restaurant staff, limited wi-fi, loud disco.
Location: 15 mins from town centre up very steep steps, near lovely restaurants. Beautiful views.
Don't believe the bad reviews - our teenage family had a great week in this friendly hotel. We would definitely go back! We chose this hotel for the massive pool, free wi-fi and relatively low cost (given that Positano is the playground of the rich and famous - of which we are neither!). The pool didn't disappoint, being massive, with plenty of room around it, a ping pong table and a bar for drinks/ice-cream. The boys even got used to wearing the swimming caps we had to wear - no idea why, but we looked like a water polo team! The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, and pointed us to Frederico's family restaurant up the road, which we went to a number of times. The free wi-fi was only available in 1 or 2 hour slots in the foyer or by the pool, however this meant we saw more of our teenage boys so it actually improved the holiday. On the negative side the hotel restaurant head waiter was unfriendly, and so we only used it once as a result. Overall a nice, friendly hotel in a lovely town with fantastic views and worth every penny.

The location of this hotel is no where near the centre of Positano and there are about 300 steps to get to the bottom and another 1km to get into the centre. There are hardly any views from the hotel. The front desk and concierge are incompetent they lost our luggage within the hotel and couldn't locate it for over an hour. The wifi is only available in the reception area and half of the pool area. There is not shuttle from the hotel to anywhere in the town. There is a public bus though that stops out the front of the hotel. The rooms are old school and average. Breakfast buffet is ok

Too many stairs make it hard to get aroundPosted Jul 22, 2013
Cons: the stairs, you couldnt go anywhere without climbing 2 or 3 flights of stairs minimum
Location: great...close to transport
Hotel ia a maze of stairwells and hallways...you cannot get anywhere without climbing up and down several flights of stairs so its very difficult if you have small children in strollers, disabled or have mobility restrictions... we have a 4 month old in a stroller so it started to take its toll. Staff were very good...Roberta was excellent...Waiter staff in restaurant were OK but one or two had real attitude and were rude. Dress code is old fashioned with men required to wear trousers to enter the restaurant for dinner or be refused entry... we didnt go back...too hot and humid to get that dressed up when you can go to a 5 star resuaurant in Positano in neat dress shorts and a shirt...great location if you use public transport, and you will need to if youre going down tothe seaside.

PositamoPosted Jul 12, 2013
This hotel is ok, the room was spacious and clean and the view was quite goo. I found the swimming pool rules uusual, you must wear a bathing cap to swim and you can only enter the pool from the stairs, you can't just slide in from your lounge. The hotel could do with a makeover, i is quite dated and difficult t get around, the layout is most unusual.

Hotel needs some lovePosted Jul 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
When we went to check in we were shown to a small dark standard economy room at the end of the hotel. When I went back up to the reception - and this was a long, long way, along endless tunnel like corridors, with very worn out carpets on the many stairs and hallways and paintwork dirty and flaking off the walls - I was told that was all they had. I pointed out that I had paid for a suite, but I was told that they keep those for families and that they had none available! So, I said ok then, I should only pay for a standard economy room and not the larger room I booked. The guy did the old 'tap tap' on the keyboard and said oh wait, there was one opening up in the morning. So we got the room we paid for the next day, but it took all the good out of it. The other issue is that the pool area appears to be shared with some sort of Timeshare apartment complex, so at times you were made to feel like you were in the way, when all the apartment dwellers came down to lounge around the pool. Finally, we had lunch at the pool area just one time - as it was very expensive. €14 for a simple parma melone, for example. We didn't pay that much for the same dish in the very nice Chez Black's down by the sea for evening dinner!!

Mediocre at bestPosted Jul 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
Outdated furnishings, uncomfortable bed, poor wi-fi connection. Mediocre service. The swimming pool requires a bathing cap. It felt like travelling back into the 70's.

Things they didn't tell usPosted Jul 6, 2013
Pros: Good location
Cons: Everything mentioned in my experience
Location: You can walk down 400 steps to get to the city, which I enjoyed.
When I booked, it was because of the beautiful pictures I saw on Expedia of the views from the rooms and of the pool. Well, in order to get in the pool, you had to wear a swimming cap. Who wants to wear a plastic cap suctioned to your head when you just bought a new swim suit for this trip? Not me! Which explains why no one was in the pool. Then when I booked the room at this hotel, the site said they had free wifi. Oh, they had free wifi, but you could only use it in two-hour increments and you had to be down at the pool or reception area. Then they put my husband and I in a conjoining room with the loudest people possible. We could hear every bodily function and conversation they had in the room next to us. the people next to us even tried opening the door combining our rooms. Thank goodness it was locked. It was in a good location and that's basically all I can say.
