Room was dated with no wifi or English TV other than CNN & BBC news. Wifi only available in reception and bar/restaurant areas. Approximately 700 steps down to beach

Bad service, bad attitude, bad location, bad all

Posted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: Nothing!
Cons: Complete makeover....
Location: it is very high in the mountain, not close to town as the description says, 35 min downhill the main street walk to the beach! Steps up will be crazy!
We had a terrible experience, pictures on the site do not show the real state of the hotel. Everything is wore down and in bad shape. No internet available in the room.

Good view overlooking Positano

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: Convenient location, close to bus stop and walkable into city Wonderful views overlooking the city
Cons: Breakfast buffet is disappointing for a hotel charging this much. Check out time of 10 am is a little early,
This is a clean hotel close to the first Positano SITE bus stop and with steps down into the town. The rooms have balconies with wonderful views onto the town below. The staff are friendly. The breakfast buffet is disappointing considering the cost of the hotel rooms: on the day we stayed here, we were in the breakfast room 45 minutes before it was due to finish, and all the hot food was gone and the waiter said no new food was being cooked. The fruits were canned rather than fresh.

Great view but disappointing

Posted Aug 30, 2014
Room contained a full mini bar price list, mini bar was empty the entire time. No glassware or tea/coffee facilities in the room. Plastic cups only. Swimming caps needed to be worn in the pool. Was not advertised at all. Disappointing overall however the view was amazing but obviously quite far from the town centre.

Stunning views, great spot

Posted Aug 30, 2014
We had loads of space, efficient air con, beautiful views, perfect breakfast spot and this was a great base for exploring the area. We liked being above the town and the steps to town were no problem, especially with a chance to swim in the(usually empty)pool on the way back.being near the bus stop and little shops was really handy for getting out and about. If you like a more sterile business hotel this might not be for you.

Good Hotel -- Beautiful view

Posted Jul 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
We spent one night in Positano and stayed at the Domina Home Royal. This is an older hotel at the top of the cliffs with a stunning view of Positano. Because its on a graduating cliff, the elevators don't go to all the floors. We were on the 2nd floor and had to "ask directions" to find our room as it was very confusing. We had to take the first elevator to the 3rd floor. Take the stairs down to the first floor, walk down a lengthy hallway to find another elevator to the 2nd floor. Not a big deal...just a little confusing at first. The room was no frills. We had our kids with us and the room fit the 5 of us just fine. Master bedroom had a double bed (no TV) and the living area had a pull out couch and another pull out chair (turned into a cot)....this room had the TV. We had a balcony with a great view. The strangest part of the stay was the pool. Beautiful pool with beautiful views. We went down with our kids and you HAVE to wear a hair cap to go into the pool. They sold them for 3.50 Euros each. It seemed silly and my wife and I didn't go into the pool as neither of us wanted to wear a skull/hair cap. Lastly....we wanted to go down to the town and walk on the beach. They have a 400 step staircase that goes down to the town. Once down the steps its a lovely walk through the town (lots of shops and restaurants) to the beach. We took a cab back to the top of the cliff to get back.

Nice hotel

It was a good hotel, clean and all very easy. I however would probably not stay again, not because anything was wrong but it lacked character and certain things were over priced.
