Amazing Amalfi Accommodation - Simply Spectacular!

Posted Jun 16, 2014
Pros: Family stayed at another hotel and felt our hotel was better value for money in comparison. Locals consider it the best and we entirely agree!
Cons: Breakfast was typically continental: including limited cold meats, cheeses, pastries, cereals, juices & hot drinks. An 'English' option would be nice
Location: There are LOTS of stairs and cobbled streets. We enjoyed a delightful boat cruise around the Amalfi coast visiting spectacular views and coves
Arriving in Amalfi is challenging but hotel communication was excellent, clearly explaining parking arrangements and directing us to the hotel garage. On arrival at the hotel Agnese, the Hotel owner / manager, greeted us personally. She was welcoming and accommodating and personally accompanied us to our room, explaining the facilities. The lift is small so the suitcase had to come up separately but that was dealt with on our behalf. We arrived in the room...wow! We booked a junior suite for a special occasion and were utterly delighted. The bathroom was spectacular and spotless. The bedroom, although lacking drawer space, was also spotless, well presented, comfortable and welcoming. The upstairs mezzanine floor held the breathtaking jacuzzi bath, two seater sofa and the glass table and two chairs inviting you to relax. It was a little disappointing that the tea and coffee were chargeable in such an expensive hotel, but a minor point given the quality of everything else. The staff were very accommodating and generally pleasant. Our trip was to celebrate a family wedding but it was also our Wedding Anniversary. We were presented with a bottle of Prosecco at breakfast as a gift from the hotel, which was laid out beautifully with cards our family had delivered. The roof terrace is lovely with a jacuzzi, sunbeds and towels. Checkout is 10 am. Late afternoon flights meant there was nowhere private to shower and change although the roof terrace shower was offered.

wonderful converted villa in Amalfi centre

Posted May 31, 2014
Pros: location right bang in the town centre yet very quiet
Cons: nothing
Location: the hotel is a stones throw from the main square and Duomo and countless restaurants. We really enjoyed an evening meal at da Gemma's opposite
There are so many good things about this hotel. The instructions on how to negotiate the historic town centre by car are excellent . Car parking is free and your luggage is collected efficiently. The rooms are modernised, spacious and clean. Breakfast is so good and enjoyed in a stunning dining room. The roof terrace is a real bonus and most importantly the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.

Pros: Close to centre of town Stylish Own parking facilities
Cons: Shower could have been larger otherwise great
Location: Location is great for walking around, good base to see other towns Ponitco and Ravello
Great location, but a bit difficult to find initially, staff pleasant and helpful Good breakfast The bedroom was fine but the shower quite small. The decor is excellent especially the main room which has a beautiful design

Great hotel: brilliant location

A really good hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, and a wonderful location, just a few yards from the centre of everything. Fantastic dining room with a beautiful painted ceiling and the included breakfast every day was fantastic. Jacuzzi on the roof and a terrace where you could eat in the evenings, watching the lovely view.

Perfect hotel for couples

Pros: The location was ideal - close to everything we wanted.
Location: Two minutes from the main square, 3 minutes from the bay. 3 minutes from the bus stop for rips to places like Ravello.
We received a great welcome, with a glass of cold drink, which was much appreciated. The roof terrace was a lovely place to relax and enjoy the view. Every morning we were asked if we needed information or help in any way - which was in a friendly way and not at all pushy. The hotel arranged a trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius for us, and gave advise about boat trips.. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a perfect location - right in the middle of Amalfi and close to the bay.

Many steps in a dark alleyway to get to hotel. They did provide luggage service because of the stairs.
