Pros: breakfast and the view, has 2 outdoor pools
Cons: slow wifi, no tea/coffee making facilites in room, restaurent food ok but quite overpriced
Location: amazing situation overlooking the sea
d expected it to be a 5 star hotel .i would rate it at a 4 star at most. The hotel has an amazing view of Salerno and the sea along the Amalfi course. the room had a beautiful view overlooking the sea and pool.THe wifi wasnt included and slow, but the hours could be used over several days rather than 24 hours. no kettle or tea /coffee facilites in the rooms ,couldnt get a cup of tea without going to bar however.the rooms were well furnished overall and had a nice decor no scales in the room for baggage onleaving so found difficult to judge whether we were over our airlines weight restriction limits. Breakfastwas very nice with a good buffet and variety of foods verygood coffee ,chocolate, but hotel restaurent in the evening was overpriced and ate only once .trestaurents in ventri nearby were fine for decent no frills italian food, and reasonably priced. the staff were friendly especially the doorman, reception staff could smile more, parking was fine and relatively secure.advise to use a car to get there, there is a bus to ventri and i think to salerno but is too far to walk to ventri there were good tourist facilits and info overall would rate it as a 4 star , with the view and location as the main selling point ,would be excellent for photoshoots for magazines was expensive and didnt have a lot of the things that we normally expect or take for granted,so room for improvement i think, would wish them well as i think is a potentially excellent hotel if it could be sorted

Pros: Cheerful Staff, Fantastic Food, Cleanliness,
Location: Great for exploring all the Amalfi coast. Plenty of restaurants in local area.
Fantastic hotel in a fantastic spot. I will definately be going again. This hotel is in a perfect spot for visiting the whole of the Amalfi coast and transport is easy to use and get. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and even the hotel manager was relaxed and happy chatting to customers as though he was one of them! Rooms were spotlessly clean and had everything that you could want. I love this hotel and the staff!

Magnificent site - outstanding views of the surroundings

The beautiful Hotel Raito needs to refine the attitude of their front desk staff to reflect a more friendly and gracious commitment to their guests. We were disappointed that English was not spoken well by important members of their service personnel. We had to request air conditioning during an unusually hot spell that was present at the time of our visit. The television did not provide adequate coverage of world events and wi-fi should be available all over the entire hotel as is in most five-star hotels. We had to take the shuttle bus to town in order to buy Euros. The elevator certainly was unreliable and a problem to the guests as well as the staff. The focus of the hotel is on area weddings and not on the satisfaction of the hotel guests. On our tour, we were in seven hotels. The Raito was among the most beautiful but was sorely lacking in certain areas.

Staff needs to be more accomodating

Beautiful place if you get the right rooms or don't bother. Get the rooms with a terrace in the upper building. Don't bother with the spa rooms. Staff at front desk needs a reality check as to their attitude.

Recommend Hotel Raito - Amalfi Coast

Great hotel with lots of amenities. Nice, large pool; great terrace bar with beautiful views. This hotel is large and has a lot of different, beautiful spaces that seems to be rented out for events – We saw two brides and a birthday party complete with the best fireworks I’ve ever seen and a fire dancer. As a guest, you can get entrance to the spa, which includes a Turkish bath, showers, steam room & sauna. Has free self-parking and is a good home-base for visiting various Amalfi Coast towns. (Over five days we visited we visited Vietri Sul Mare, Salerno, Agropoli, Cilento, Minori, Ravello, Amalfi and Positano.) Room & shower were a little small but very clean and comfortable. Breakfast included. Free Internet access via computers in lobby. Recommend having a car. The hotel is set up the hill from the closest little town (Vietri Sul Mare) so it’s not really walking distance from the shops & restaurants. I believe the hotel had shuttle service and the town has buses but we were glad we had our own car. I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again in the future.

Good Overall but Rent a Car
Posted Jan 22, 2010
The hotel itself was very nice. The room was very clean and well kept, and the food at the restaurant was pricey but good. The view is spectacular. Since we did not rent a car, we had to use a taxi, bus, or the hotel shuttle to get to the nearest town/train station. Although we booked the shuttle, and were told that we would have it at a certain time, the shuttle departure was delayed repeatedly and we were not notified. This left us standing outside, by the shuttle, until I found out it would be departing an hour after we scheduled it. When the shuttle is running properly, it is very convenient, although the vehicle itself has seen better days and is severely dented. Overall, I would recommend the hotel, but rent a car.
