Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing
Location: Fantastic
Amazing Hotel. From the moment we walked in, we knew that it was an excellent hotel. We had a superior room (no 6) and it was great. The large balcony was at the front looking over the sea. It was great to wake up and see what large boat/ship had arrived over night. There is a little noise out front, but nothing too bad. The closed windows stopped any coming through at night. The upstairs lobby area looks really nice. Breakfast is very nice on the terrace. Good quality and great service. The desk staff are very attentive and can answer any questions you have. The location of the hotel is great. The main Piazza is litterally behind the hotel so very close. The great thing about it being at the bottom of the village is after a great meal, it's always a downhill walk back to the hotel. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone at all.

Great location, service and value
Posted Jan 12, 2013
Pros: Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Our "standard room" looked out to the sea.
Cons: Breakfast was "just OK", but this wasn't too important for me.
Location: Great location, right in the heart of the town, near the bus, ferry and beach.
The hotel is in a perfect location. Very old outside, but modern inside. The staff were super friendly and attentive. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will book there again when I go back to Amalfi.

Perfect location, exceptional service
Posted Jan 26, 2013
Location: Overlooking the waterfront, just steps from the main piazza. Ideal spot.
Staff was extremely accommodating, spending considerable time with us to help with travel arrangements when our itinerary changed unexpectedly. In addition to being a perfectly located, well appointed hotel this made our stay perfect. Wouldn't even think about staying anywhere else next time we're in Amalfi.

Pros: Service

Location: Great location, on the center square
The best part was the service with a smile, the location so near the heart of the city was great.

Nice Hotel grate location friendly staff.

Pros: Location Location Location, easy walk to all of Amalfi and easy accesss to boats and Buses.
Cons: Breakfast could use more fresh fruits!
The Hotel offered a free guided tour of Amalfi, it was the highlight of our Vacation, we never had any idea of the History of Amalfi and it's importance in maritime trade. Also visit the Museum in the old shipyard as wellas the Church, a must see.

Wonderful Hotel, Location, and Staff
Posted Jan 13, 2013
Pros: Wonderful views from our balcony, terrace. Best Location.Great breakfast, very clean and comfortable, and attentive the staff.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Great Location.
From the moment of arrival, until our departure 5 days later, both my niece and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Residence. All of the staff from the Front desk to the Terrace Staff were really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble to them. The view from our balcony was just wonderful, and the location could not be bettered. Our room was lovely, comfortable beds, the bedding and towels were of a high quality, and the cleaners were first rate. The breakfast was very enjoyable, and was made more so because of the Hotel's terrace. It was so relaxing to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, or in the evening to share a bottle of wine on the terrace Prices in the bar were reasonable. This hotel is suitable for all ages. Cannot fault it at all, and because we enjoyed Amalfi so much we intend to return next year, and will definitely stay at Hotel Residence. Thank you to all of the staff.

Francesco - the star of Amalfi !!
Posted Jan 7, 2013
Pros: The helpfulness and friendliness of Francesco at Reception - even when he was clearly suffering with a very painful neck injury!
Cons: Our room was a bit small.
Location: Very central location - immediately opposite beach, bus, taxi and ferry - and just round the corner to a wide variety of restaurants and shops.
Despite its very ordinary entrance - once inside we were amazed by the architecture and decor - the ceilings were out of this world! Overall, very convenient for all the local facilities.

Comfortable and relaxing

A good mixture of old and new. A busy location but with views either overlooking the sea front or the church square. Within a short walking distance of all amenities. Nice to have breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea front.

A beautiful building in a great location
Posted Jan 22, 2013
Pros: the relaxed atmosphere and location
Cons: no pool
Location: central & convenient
The rooms are beautiful and still hold some of the original style from when this was an old palace. The views from the balconies are great and shutters are provided to soundproof the rooms which is much needed at weekends. The breakfast is great and you can sit on the terrace watching the world go by with a drink at any time. The staff were friendly and helpful especially when it came to sorting out the parking with directions and instructions. We would certainly visit again. Tips: Ravello is a must to go see especially the Villa Rufulo and once you've experienced the driving conditions don't hesitate to take the bus!
