Historical stayPosted Nov 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Torre Saracena was a fascinating place to stay. We had a three bedroom apartment that was quite comfortable for our one night stay. Santo stefano is a remarkable village to visit. Could easily have stayed longer.

Great break in a quiet spotPosted Oct 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a quiet break from our 2 weeks on the Amalfi coast. The hotel was conveniently located right at a SITA bus stop (the last one going out of town towards Amalfi), so you could hop around the coast even if you didn't have a car. Hotel reception was at street level (3 steps from the road) and offered a wonderful sea view for breakfast on the terrace. That meant however that all rooms were down from there, with no elevator. To get to the first level required about 40 stairs and it went down from there. We were hauling 5 bags so this was not easy. If you have any problems with stairs, this hotel, as with so many on the coast, may not be for you. The rooms were big and we had a nice patio looking out over the sea. The shower was really small and you had to step over an 8" ledge to get in, so again accessability may be a challenge. We walked down the 210 stairs to swim and while it took awhile to get back up the walk was worth it. The water was still swimable in late October and right around the corner was a grotto you could swim in. The marina access steps were close by but it was a long walk down. A surprising number of restaurants await you and don't miss the great cooking from mamma at the Bar Petit Mar. You could walk along the main road for awhile and find other places to eat and if you are really fit you can hike up to the older part of town. Torre Saracena offered a relaxing place to return to and be out of the hustle of the bigger tourist towns.

Quite hotel with great view.Posted Oct 28, 2013
Location: Easy walk to Costa Diva Restaurant, has the SITA bus stop right out the front of the hotel for easy access to Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento.
We were looking for quite accommodation with good outlook on the Amalfi Coastline and Hotel Torre Saracena fitted the bill. It was on recommendation from our son who had stayed there last year. The duty day manager Louisa was extremely helpful when my wife was ill and bedridden for a day and also on advising an alternative to catching the ferry to Capri when we missed the SITA bus going to Amalfi.

Warm and wonderfulPosted Oct 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a lovely stay. It seems every room has a balcony or patio looking out over the sea. It is very convenient as it is next to a SITA bus stop which helps you get to larger towns quickly. The staff are very warm and welcoming, the breakfast was robust and delicious, and the rooms very comfortable. There was a leak in the first room we were put in, but the staff were quick to move us to another, even nicer room. We really appreciated the hotel.

Great hotel, great location away from the crowdsPosted Oct 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel staff were all exceptional in helping with tours, restaurant reservations and other suggestions of things to do. The hotel is ideally located in Praiano along the main road with access to the water and just a short walk into the main part of town. We had a corner room that was large, with a spectacular balcony and had windows on two sides that provided fantastic views and cross ventilation of the sea breezes off the water. I would recommend this hotel over any similar 3 or 4 star hotel in Positano or Amalfi due to its fantastic location and staff.

Very charming place with fabulous view.Posted Sep 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel was quaint, beautiful and the staff was awesome. They were so helpful and friendly. The view from our balcony was stupendous!!! Breakfast each day very good with hours to allow you to sleep in. There are a lot of stairs to climb, but it's so worth it. I plan on visiting there again.

Great findPosted Sep 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
What a place to stay !! Upon arrival, after a hair raising drive along the coast road from Sorrento, we were met by 2 men who hoisted our (heavy) bags onto their shoulders and carried them to our room for us. This was a great start as, typical for the area, there were a number of stairs to get to our room. We had a standard double which was a modular unit with a terrace overlooking the water. It was very comfortable and clean and quite roomy. The service during the whole stay was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful, arranging a car to take us to Naples on our departure and giving us plenty of help with any of our queries. The descent to the private swimming area was certainly an experience and make sure you swim around and into the grotto for a look - amazing !! All up a wonderful stay and would thoroughly recommend the hotel. Plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance also. Just be warned that you need to be able to handle stairs if you stay here as all the rooms I saw involved stairs.

Beautiful Rooms if you get the right onePosted Sep 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Praiano is a more relaxing and less crowded option on the Amalfi Coast and Hotel Torre Saracena is conveniently located near the bus stop. The staff was very friendly and the hotel views were incredible. Just note that the rooms you see in the photos are the Superior rooms and there is a very big difference in quality. We stayed in the Superior room for the first two night and a standard room the last night because we asked to be upgraded and they could accommodate us for part of our stay. The hotel is very quaint and doesn't have a kitchen, but they serve a continental breakfast and make a wonderful cappuccino. The ocean is 220 steps down and there are some very unique restaurants nearby including La Pirata and Africana Night Club (in a cave). The town is about a 20 minute walk on the narrow roads, so just know that this is a great place to relax, but if you want to get out and see the sights, it may be better to stay in a town with a ferry stop too like Positano or Amalfi.

Standard v's Superior RoomPosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: the views and frienldly staff
Cons: Website should be clearer what you get when you book a standard room. ie. a shack seperate to the hotel.
Location: walking distance to beach.
Unfortunatly we were a little disappointed because we thought we were getting a room similar to that shown in the pictures, but rather we got a small shack seperate to the hotel. There a quite a number of these shacks in comparison to the main hotel rooms. Apparently if your book a 'standard' room you get a shack, if you book 'superior' room you have a chance of getting one of the rooms in the pictures or something similar. The hotel website should be clear what you will get if you book a 'standard' room as at the moment it's very decieving. The shacks also have a slight smell of sewage as it comes up through the shower drain. The rooms very simple but clean and had a nice terrace. All that said, the location is very nice, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the views beautiful. But best to know what you will get upfront. Stayed 8-11th August.

Amazing time..Posted Aug 30, 2013
My boyfriend and I enjoyed 4 days on the Amalfi coast when visiting. The hotel looks just like the photos and the staff is super helpful and very nice. The fact that the bus makes a stop right at the hotel made it very easy to explore the other towns in the area. Our favorite was the Africana for dinner, drink and dancing right next store and the restaurant next to the hotel is simply beautiful. I recommend all around!
