“Lovely hotel”
This hotel has been recently completely renovated and is now finished. Luckily, the essence of Italian style has been retained, although with a modern and light colour scheme.
We were treated with complete charm and courtesy at every turn. The roof terrace has unbelievable views of the Mediterranean, which can be enjoyed from poolside, or the rooftop restaurant - a special place at night with neighbouring towns lit up and the moon shining on the water.
Like so many Ravello hotels, parking is limited and a fee is charged, but the good news is that the parking can be accessed from the main road upon entry to Ravello along the sea, as long as you keep a keen eye out for the Hotel Villa Fraulo sign on the right before the road curves right into the tunnel leading into the village. Once you are in the tiny parking area, you can take your bags to your room via the back elevator. This is a treat, as we saw dozens of people lugging suitcases up stairs into their hotels because there was no access by car/bus..
Perhaps because we stayed 4 nights, we were upgraded from our original booking to a higher room, so can't comment on what a basic room may be like. The one we had was sumptuous. Every room has a sea view, so no chance of a disappointment there.
We would go back in a heartbeat, to both the hotel and Ravello itself.
