Pros: Almost everything!
Cons: Be aware of the 25 euro per day parking - its expensive to park on the Amalfi coast!
Location: Beautiful coast but be prepared to drive or walk up and down a lot of steps. A visit to Amalfi is a must and seeing the coast from a boat is great.
We stayed at Hotel Villa Fraulo for our friends' wedding. We arrived late but were greeted by the Valet who dealt with the car. Check in was quick and we went to our room which was a Superior Room and certainly suited its name! The bed was huge and very comfortable with a gorgeous huge bathroom, dressing room and small terrace with stunning views. The breakfasts were lovely although sometimes could have been topped up on a couple of occasions. The staff were absolutely wonderful throughout, could not do enough for us and special mention must go to head barman Maurizio and waiter Michelangelo. The wedding was fantastic with incredible food and wonderful service followed by amazing cocktails! I would go back tomorrow, it was the perfect venue for a wedding.

I adore this hotel!Posted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: Everything, it's amazing.
Location: It's very close to the centre of Ravello, both front and back entrance and the hotel will take care of your car. Otherwise parking would be difficult.
This was the second year running that I stayed at this hotel and I found the experience as wonderful as I did the first time around. The staff are unbelievably kind and create a particularly welcoming atmosphere. It's a peaceful place to stay and the view from the rooms is just heavenly. Breakfast on the terrace was the highlight of each day. We traveled with my disabled mother who needs a wheelchair, and access at this hotel was very easy, although I would warn any disabled traveler who is considering a visit to the Amalfi coast that there are severe limitations in most of the towns, but don't be put off if you have a reasonably fit and strong companion! This is not the grandest hotel I've ever stayed at, but it does have something very very special. I find it impossible to fault.

Pros: Location, facilities and friendly staff.
Location: Villa Rufolo
I planned a two day stay at Villa Fraulo but fell ill with a terrible cold and could only remain one day. The staff was very kind and prepared a special soup for lunch to help me feel better. Our short stay was very comfortable, location was perfect! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Ravello.

Villa Fraulo for quality, class and stylePosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: See above
Cons: Heat the pool and change the height/design of the coat hangers which were curiously inaccessible to anyone under about 6 foot tall.
Location: Ravello itself is very chic and much nicer to be up there in the mountains with cooler air and breathtaking views than in on the coast
From the point of reception up to day of departure the experience in this hotel was top notch. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who provided a 5* service whatever their designation/level of seniority. Special shout-out though for Mauritzio (hope I have spelled his name correctly) who ensured that dining at the hotel was a very special experience. I note it has been remarked upon by someone else but the hotel should advertise the restuarant more as although not cheap the food is extremely good and prices representative of the quality of food and service. We learned that until 4 years ago this was a private house and it still feels like that when sitting in the lounge or the tasteful bar area.

Spectacular view, spartan roomsPosted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: Location and view
Cons: Breakfast buffet was of poor quality and was absolutely the same every day.
Clean hotel, comfortable beds and in a great location. Staff extremely courteous and accommodating, but at this price level rooms lack basic essentials like a corkscrew, wine glasses, notepaper, or even a picture on the wall

Take in to account..Posted Oct 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is lovely! However, be aware that all standard rooms are at street level, near the main road, so are less discrete and noisy. Also, the spectacular view is restricted by trees. We considered the room quite small for a hotel of this calibre. Bath/shower may be difficult for the older traveller to use. Wardrobe facilities less than helpful as hanging rail too high up and not long enough for cocktail-length dresses or trousers. However, lovely hotel, beautiful interiors, very clean, wonderful views from the terrace, and perfectly cooked poached eggs at breakfast. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Good location for the town and valet parking.

Nice Hotel let down by management and staffPosted Sep 18, 2013
Pros: Central location in Ravello and views from balcony.
Cons: Publish an address that can be reached by car not some daft address that can only be reached on foot. Change management and train the staff properly.
After a 350 mile drive from Firenze we were delighted to arrive at Ravello. Our Sat-Nav tried in vain to deliver us to the hotel's main address which could not be accessed by car. A friendly hotel nearby allowed us to leave our car in their car park whilst we walked to our hotel. Walking into the hotel we were greeted by a rather irritable lady receptionist who told us we had come to the front of the hotel and there was only limited parking but this was at the back of the hotel down 8 flights of stairs in a road very difficult to find. Their porter accompanied us whilst we found our car and drove to the other side of the hotel down through the winding hillside roads. Once parked they insisted on having our car keys but this was unacceptable, we asked them to call us if they needed to have the car moved. We were very briefly shown to our room but not made to feel at all welcome. The receptionists subsequent call to our room insisting on having our car keys was most unwelcome. The hotel is very well presented but fails on a number of counts, namely: Elevators are often out of service; Swimming Pool was freezing cold, dirty and infested with Algae, it was taken out of service for 40% of our stay; Air Conditioning in our bedroom was faulty; Wi-Fi was unavailable at the start and for 50% of our stay so we couldn't book an alternative hotel; English Breakfast Tea was unavailable for two days; A 4 minute boiled egg took 30 minutes, arriving cold a uncooked. Jacuzzi bath was dirty.

Fairly average and over priced.Posted Sep 17, 2013
Great views but that's about it. Check that there isn't a wedding going on or you won't be able to access the pool. Again this hotel only commands a premium price due to the lack of availability of hotels in the height of the season. Suggest that you rent an apartment in ravello ... Much cheaper and most of them are huge and very clean with awesome landlords. We have stayed in better hotels for half the price. Didn't eat here so can't comment on the food but the room was extremely clean although the receptionist contributed to letting our experience down as she was very frosty.
