Memories are better than dreamsPosted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: The service, the food, the cocktails and all the staff
Location: You should be gut and happy to walk up and down steps to enjoy it to the full. Walking is fantastic and the beach at Castiglione is superb.
We stayed 10 days and were treated like royalty where nothing was too much trouble. From the first welcome, the first meal, the room, the bed of a famous brand name and the cocktails served by the best cocktail waiter I have ever come across. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Excellent location to town squarePosted Jun 16, 2014
We loved this hotel. The room was clean and fresh and the view from balcony and breakfast terrace spectacular! The location is fantastic and no need to drag your bags up and down stairs as the car dropped us to the front door. The breakfast on the terrace was superb and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We also thought great value considering the adjoining hotels. We would definitely stay again.

Close to Ravello centrePosted May 26, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Giving guest the control to regulate the temperature of their room
Location: The Ravello centre, bus and taxi station and tea room is a great little bar
We found staff very friendly, hotel was clean and very pretty. Room was not like shown on website but nice. It was very close to everything to do in Ravello. Breakfast was included and was good. Only real issue was the staff had controll of the a/c. It was 80F out and our room was VERY hot and the staff said they couldn't turn on the air conditioner until the weekend because it takes "a week to go from heat to a/c". Which was odd

Excellent hotel, fantastic location.Posted May 23, 2014
Cons: It would have been nice to have have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. We did feel that the car parking for hotel guests should have been free
Fantastic service. We parked our car in the public car park down the road and then walked to find the hotel. At check in the receptionist said she would send the porter to the car park to fetch our car and then bring our luggage to our room which he did. The hotel itself was spotless and we had maid service every day which really made the difference. The only thing to criticise really is that we were charged 25 euros a day for the hotel car park, which I feel should have been free to hotel guests.

The best view in ItalyPosted May 20, 2014
Pros: The staff were extremely helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble.
Cons: The food?
Location: Ravello town square has a Cathedral, many coffee shops, restaurants and small shops. Also two old villas to visit. Amalfi and Positano are close by.
A lovely old villa hotel built onto the rocks above Amalfi/Atrano overlooking the sea towards Salerno. The hotel is only a short walk from the town square and is ideally placed for exploring the area. Room was clean and bright consisting of sitting room, bedroom and bath/shower room. Nice wide balcony with table and chairs but only direct sunshine in the mornings. Public rooms were comfortable and the restaurant led onto a very large roof terrace for outside dining. Breakfast there is a very pleasant experience. There is an infinity pool which starts in the spa room and goes outside into the sun but there is no room there for sunbathing. We only had one evening meal in the restaurant and were a little disappointed with the quality and presentation of the food. One meal may not be a fair test of this though.

Villa Fraulo was comfortable, clean and helpful. We had an amazing view of the Amalfi coast from our balcony and the Villa is close to the main piazza. We would highly recommend it.

Great Hotel and location.Posted Apr 17, 2014
Such a clean and lovely place with temperpedic mattresses and pillows that were heaven! The art in the hotel was stunning as were the views. I realize the staff all work very hard, but there is one area that was a problem for us..the quality of the dinner food was not very good. Our waiter was fantastic and he tried to make up for this. He could see how unfortunate it was that we received poor quality food. Please change your quality and your chef expertise. The prices are too expensive $$$$ for what we paid for quality-wise. The breakfast was much better than the dinner. We loved everything else about this hotel!!!! Thank you Paolo for helping us with the luggage!! You are a very nice respectful young man! Grazie Hotel Villa Fraulo!! Ciao!

Pros: Almost everything!
Cons: Be aware of the 25 euro per day parking - its expensive to park on the Amalfi coast!
Location: Beautiful coast but be prepared to drive or walk up and down a lot of steps. A visit to Amalfi is a must and seeing the coast from a boat is great.
We stayed at Hotel Villa Fraulo for our friends' wedding. We arrived late but were greeted by the Valet who dealt with the car. Check in was quick and we went to our room which was a Superior Room and certainly suited its name! The bed was huge and very comfortable with a gorgeous huge bathroom, dressing room and small terrace with stunning views. The breakfasts were lovely although sometimes could have been topped up on a couple of occasions. The staff were absolutely wonderful throughout, could not do enough for us and special mention must go to head barman Maurizio and waiter Michelangelo. The wedding was fantastic with incredible food and wonderful service followed by amazing cocktails! I would go back tomorrow, it was the perfect venue for a wedding.

I adore this hotel!Posted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: Everything, it's amazing.
Location: It's very close to the centre of Ravello, both front and back entrance and the hotel will take care of your car. Otherwise parking would be difficult.
This was the second year running that I stayed at this hotel and I found the experience as wonderful as I did the first time around. The staff are unbelievably kind and create a particularly welcoming atmosphere. It's a peaceful place to stay and the view from the rooms is just heavenly. Breakfast on the terrace was the highlight of each day. We traveled with my disabled mother who needs a wheelchair, and access at this hotel was very easy, although I would warn any disabled traveler who is considering a visit to the Amalfi coast that there are severe limitations in most of the towns, but don't be put off if you have a reasonably fit and strong companion! This is not the grandest hotel I've ever stayed at, but it does have something very very special. I find it impossible to fault.

Pros: Location, facilities and friendly staff.
Location: Villa Rufolo
I planned a two day stay at Villa Fraulo but fell ill with a terrible cold and could only remain one day. The staff was very kind and prepared a special soup for lunch to help me feel better. Our short stay was very comfortable, location was perfect! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Ravello.
